I have a dilemma (and a long story) and would welcome some advice from Y'ALL, my friends, who mostly hang out in this thread. This guy attacked me the other day, and left 30k, so I attacked back and wound up taking him for a good chunk of change. He completely flipped out and posted some derogatory and threatening stuff on my wall. I was amused. He is pretty strong and has over 10k wins with about 150 losses (before I started anyways.) I assumed he had just never had someone milk him before and his wall made him look like a big ol' bully. Taunting others who asked him to stop and stuff like that. I hit him hard again after the threats, took some more money, and basically told him to calm down, it's just a game. Didn't get an apology or anything, but the profanity and threats stopped.

Because of the rivals list glitch, at Level 100, I couldn't see anyone under Level 109 for a couple days, but the upper 90's could still see me. So today when it changed and we could all see each other again, this guy popped back up. He was sitting on about 15 Mill, so of course I hit him up, and even completed 2 Valor Missions while milking him. Bonus! He went completely nuts. He claimed that his friends own Funzio and I better watch out. I was still amused, because nothing is more fun than punking a bully, right?

But then I scrolled down to the bottom of one of his posts and saw that he was actually threatening to come find me and I better "keep an eye on my family."

That changes everything... where I come from if we have a problem, we settle it one on one. Even ignoring the fact that it's just a game, all I took from him was imaginary money, and he attacked me first to start all this... you NEVER bring family into the fight. I've also been around long enough to know that just one hot-headed guy with a loose screw and an axe to grind can be crazy enough to follow through on that sort of threat and I don't want a game to cost me one of my kids.

I am stronger than he is by about 15-20% already, and I have 70 less allies, so I could quickly make that more. I've also got about 70k in valor saved up.

So here's my question to my friends, since you are from all over the world, and all sexes, races, ages, tax brackets, etc...

What would YOU do?

My red-headed temper is screaming at me to make him the only item on my "to-do" list all day every day until he learns his lesson or apologizes or whatever. I really don't want to back down from a good fight, and I certainly don't want to be bullied out of playing a game I love (and am so addicted to.)

My waning common sense is telling me that to change my entire game strategy to focus on one person is stupid and self-destructive.

My love and concern for my kids is telling me to apologize to HIM and quit the game completely before someone actually gets hurt. I'm not afraid at all... come at me, bro... but threatening my family...? That's messed up. I know I've made enemies along the way, and unless you have never attacked or raided anyone, so has everyone else on here. But for some reason, this feels different, and more serious to me. Sorry for the ramble, but I need the advice and I respect all of you (as long as Flan doesn't answer this one.) Thanks in advance for replying if you took the time to read all this. Again... WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

I feel the same way with my kid and family.. But I put a stop to things real quick by putting them in there place before they make a dumbass move and it's all over for them... I come from a pretty crazy background of law enforcement and military... I have things and know things that could really do some damage to certain ppl / things if ever need be..

Thank you all for your feedback already. It really means a ton. This has been bugging me more than I like to admit. But I believe Funzio's policy is to not discuss disciplinary actions against players, so I'll never know for sure if I'm safe or not.

I don't care about losing to a better player, that's the whole point of the game. I've taken my lumps along the way for sure, and I'm about to take a lot more in a few levels.

I guess the truth is that I want to call his bluff and ream him until I get worn out from it and let Aidan take all the cash while I take out the rest of the base.

3. funzio has a policy against serious threats (i'll try to find it later and send you a pm)

i would be willing to bet that player is either spoiled rotten or a very scared anger teen w/raging hormones he cannot control but i very seriously would not think that he will or could actually follow through...

the best advice is to turn the matter over to funzio and let them handle it...

if there really is a connection to funzio, then the matter is before many witnesses now so that would not be a wise option for anyone there.
