Hi Elita,
I've been playing this game for about 4 - 5 months now.
Firstly, I really like this game. For games that I don't like, it'll only last for about 2 weeks before I put it down. Especially for games that I don't care, I won't even be bother to put in a suggestion.
I think there's a lack in this game. I call it the
'end game vision'.
This game lack of 'end game vision'. Great game always have it. The question to answer is "What will it looked like for players reaching the end game". I'd argue that it's not up to the
players or community to decide this (though you can ask for suggestion). It is upto the
game developer team, and the original game maker (the person / group who design the game to look like in the first place) to decide this.
Currently, Knights and Dragons end game are as follows:
- PVP battle with guild wars (guilds reaching to the top with the main focus, and only applicable to those who care as well, new artwork, new theme, new armor required)
- Epic boss battle with iteration of 1 week. (new armor, new artwork required)
- New Arena battle with 1 week iteration (new artwork, new theme required)
- Grinding for enhancement on levels
To me this list is exhaustive for a team, because every week, you need to come up with new artwork, make the new EB animation to work, design the new EB, new themes, etc. This is not maintainable in the long run.
What I mean by PVP / PVE focus are:
Some other games did it with PVP focus. Lots of features for PVP. Battle arena, team arena (you can add your guild members / friends list to battle others for example in our case). top player holding (reach to the top, and see if anyone can beat you, the next person beat will become the top holder, the challenge is to see how long you can hold). In this case, you as the development team, don't need to do anything once the features put in place.
Some games are PVE focus. Addition in great contents of PVE, great story line, and massive PVE player community that make the game wonderful. Not to mention some PVE contents that are just extremely difficult no matter what you are using, you will need some sort of strategy and friends to overcome it. I think the pve contents that are just extremely difficult is the main focus in PVE focus games.
I see this game bit lack in both. the Guild Wars is a pvp, whilst epic boss is pve. The both content makes the game not maintainable for developers. You have to come up with new epic bosses and design, new artwork for the tournament with new name "war of the...". That's lots of effort that is definitely not maintainable in the long run. Supposedly if noone buy gems anymore, the game would suddenly become not interesting any longer, because your funding is being cut, and no developers would be developing the game (though I'm just making assumption on your company's funding structure here).
I'd argue, we don't need new bosses / armor. We need new features of the game that'd make the game more interesting. To proceed, I'd focus on one particular development first, either PVP or PVE content. These are the basis of the end game structure.
Having said that, it does not hurt to have new content such as new bosses or armor. But in this case, priority matters. I'd vote for better pvp / pve content rather than having new war themes / armor / epic bosses every week. You can use old content in the mean time for epic bosses, war themes.
My 2 cents.
