Holidays usually mean me on the grill, which means steak for me (and the rest of the family too, I suppose...).

It's hurricane season on the east coast of the US. How many hurricanes/typhoons/natural disasters have you been through in your lifetime so far? (Several hurricanes and one earthquake here...)

I used to live in L.A., so:

* Brush fires
* Mudslides
* Earthquakes

I also count this, because it was so intense, though it was man-made:

* L.A. Riots (Rodney King/Reginald Denny, etc)



I could see the flames from my work.

When I moved to the South (right after Katrina), I was treated to an F4 tornado that ripped through my new hometown. It was the first one to hit that town since the 1800's. Sheesh!

(My pick is the comic Preacher, which aparently Seth Rogen is making into a TV show for AMC...which is probably going to be god awful since most of whats in the comic isn't suitable for cable TV.)

Beta testing would be neat. I'm all for giving my opinion on things, and at least with beta testing you're seeing new things every now and then. If you're on the development side, you're staring at the same code for months on end until you move on to a new project.
