Low Level Discussion ( Under level 25)

Your defence needs to be a bit higher at level 35 you should have defence of at least 1500 or higher .

I would get rid off Souvenir to give your self some extra space instead going for next expansion :)

How comes you didn't buy Collection Agency or Seafood Restaurant ?

Thanks. I've been thinking about buying equipment, but the stuff available seems pretty lame for the price. I could buy combat shotguns for my bottom 6 Mafia for a gain of +18 att/ +6 def and a cost of $90,000. Or maybe I should buy junkers or motorcycles--for the same $90k I could buy 15 motorcycles +30/30 or 45 junkers for +45/45 since I don't have enough vehicles for all my guys. But is that a good use of money if they will be replaced pretty soon? I could also increase Mafia size, but already my bottom six guns are only +2 attack, as are my bottom three armor (though I think I can afford three more nvb).

Sadly I have an android, so no event items in my future.

Not a specific choice, just been building and upgrading other stuff. Shoe store actually looks a little more appealing than the collection agency for the same footprint, though somewhat pricier to upgrade. Seafood restaurant is probably my next purchase if I buy new buildings, but I'm not sure if I should buy more new buildings or just focus on upgrading and building a few defense buildings.

Let me ask your thoughts on defense. I've been focusing mainly on attack numbers since I can pick my rivals and it seems like I'm always going to be attacked/ robbed by someone. I have been using the bank, so maybe the answer its that I could put money into better defense and stop banking, but that might wreck my peace of mind more than the cost. I don't see any inexpensive way to get my defense up to 1500. I could buy maybe 30 Mace for +90 def, but no attack gain.

Well Here some of my Defence equipment so you can see how most my defences i invested in

Armour
Stab vest - 20
Gas Mask 20
Combat boots 20
Camo Fatigues 20
Riot Helmet 5 but planning buy 5 more
There helmet 4 attack 8 defence locked for me but shouldn't be for you.
Melee
Street knives 20
Tennis racket 20
Mace 20
Night stick 20

I am at lower level than you but my defence is 1180. You

Stab vests are bad value: for $9k you get 3/7, but if you buy armored gloves and riot helmets, you get 3/8 per pair for $8900.

The 4/8 swat helmet costs $18k. I don't think the +1 attack over the gloves/riot combo is worth the extra $9100.

Until you have SWAT helmet unlocked you have no choice :(.

Is there any way to sell items (exc buildings)?

Nope once you buy a weapon you are stuck with it :(. Just be careful what to buy :)

I had to read your post like 30 times scratching my head and trying to figure out what you was saying... then I realized that you don't even know what you are saying.

Your combo doesn't work bud. You can't have a 2bit armor combo. Doesn't work that way. You can only use one or the other. And yes 1 extra point (given or taken) makes a difference. At lvl 100 - it could be a 500 point difference on your stat...

I think his point is when you attack, you use your strongest items and when you defend, you use your strongest defend items. In this case, when you attack, you use the 3/3 gloves and when you defend, you use the 1/8 helmets. You still net $100 cheaper than stab vest.

ohhhh in that case he is semi correct... you buy everything that gives the best imo... until you can spend your RP on top notch quality items :D

Not if you want to maximize atk/$ or def/$ spent ;)

That's the whole point of having a billion dollar income o_0...

So you can afford to have the best of the best...

Ah, but you can use a two bit armor combo because for attacking you take your best attack items and for defending you take your best defense items, so one item need not be the best overall if it is paired with another. so for outfitting a low level Mafia, you are sometimes better buying pairs where one item is used only for attack and its a match its used only for defense.

Of course at the highest levels, you end up needing the top equipment to get the Max stats, but for lower levels where the equipment you are buying will eventually be replaced by better stuff anyway, I think it is worth evaluating what purchase price gives good bang for Buck since any money spent on low level equipment is only for temporary gain anyway.

The pair I'm looking at is the perfect example of this.

Riot helmet: 1/8 $7000
Armored gloves: 3/3 $1900

So if you get one of each, you spend $8900. When you attack, you'll use the armored gloves for +3. When you defend, you'll use the riot helmet for +8. (assuming the last member of your Mafia would otherwise have no armor).

If instead you buy a stab vest, you'll spend $9000, and you'll get the same +3 attack, but only +7 defense.

That makes the stab vest a bad deal. The only reason I see to buy them is if you want to complete the buy 5 stab vests goal or if you need them for a mission you decide to do.

I'd be careful about buying too many blast guard helmet, as I think mid-level RP item NVP will replace that not far in the future (level 32). Unless you are truly planning to bank all your RPs for chain whips MUCH further down in the game.

Also, need LOTS of money for those items ;)

Yeah I wan't to spend my RP on the exeleros I keep hearing about...

It seems that at higher levels you can farm for items almost as good as the nvb...

Really?

NVB's are 16/16 - hard to beat for the cheap RP that they are. If you miss out on stocking up on these when they open to you - I think you will have a hard time farming for a suitable replacement for the amount that you need. Don't forget - farming is a hit and miss thing. It's fine to do but you need to spend your RP's wisely as well.

Nobody has ever told me just to wait for Exceleros..........

People talk about having 300 exceleros - soooo I'm going to wait till I can buy 300 exceleros then spend the rest on other stuff.

Besides the blast guard helmet is 6/14. It almost makes up for that 2 point defense difference vs the nvb...

That should hold over till the super highend RP items.

I'm not too concerned about my att/defense at lower levels... As long as I can block MOST attacks I'm happy.

But when I reach the high levels, I'd like to NOT loose EVERY fight.

So I think it's better to save everything till you are in the 100s...

Have you seen new update on android it says new weapons but i only seen 1 or 2 new weapons :(.

I don't see any new weapons at all o_0

I did see the LE items that popped up for a few hours the other day... is that what you are referring to?

Well remember i am new to game but have you updated it ?

There gun cost 360 respect Attack 22 Defence 14 never seen it before unlock at level 42
There this Vest attack 5 Defence 11 cost 80,000 never seen it before.

I am not sure if these are new but they look new to me

I think you are seeing "new" items that are revealed to you as you level up :) Those are not "new" to the game, but just that until you reached a certain level, you don't even see those items.

But you need good attack scores to fight to get the thug life goals that give important respect rewards. Defense is fine, but I think you'll also want to do some attacking.

The biggest mistake i see are player high attack score but weak defence scores.

I think someone mentioned that you should try to keep def = 2x atk to be sure you are well protected.

I haven't lost any fight in almost 10 days my last record was 6 days. :)

Yesterday was somewhat productive. Many thanks to White Frog for the spreadsheet. I'm approaching 10K IpH and will hit that today (from 9K yesterday). I'm in a situation where I will lay low until the next event comes as that's where a bevy of my experience/RP/cash come from. Built up a few low level spots, will build those up to L4/5, finish the warehouse 'project' to L7 (at 6 now), see what that gives me and keep that until I BE or need space. My next upgrade is $260K, and don't plan on using that soon as I still can build, and at worst, I can remove the last six guard towers for room. Will replace those with MG turrets.

kykboxr - get your defense up so you can no at least try to no bank. how many mob members do you have at lvl20?

Invest in items if you are going to camp for a little while... (and obviously only invest in whatever gives you the best defense)...

not necessarily.... Just a play style really.

I know I would never attempt to rob/attack him if his attack was 2x as strong. That means I'm on his newsfeed and he will try and farm me

random, important tip to get your economy boosting fellas:

Save up for first MT by leveling up other buildings (LMs, ice-cream shops, basketball courts, italians, etc) then after you have two, keep saving up for next upgrade while leveling up other buildings.

Then when you have just enough money to upgrade, make sure the MT is your next upgrade when the current upgrading is finished. keep doing this to leveling it to 4. then move on to Lofts.

I promise your economy will produce much more money much less time.
