Im a light gem spender but I must say that bow might just be enough to get me spending. In my opinion its overpowered with both big boosts to pve and pvp. Im only at 4/10 but if I get to 8/10 im going to chuck $50 at it.

As for the other quest line thats way out of my league.

Gee that guy last H Boss can take a hit. But he 's done now. I figured out why he was so hard to kill. Every shot from that new Bow hit him in the left knee. Thousands of shots to that knee, poor bastard. What a way to go, eh?
Got the Poetic Minstrel in the line up now. Looks like his twin brother only bigger numbers. Oh yeah! The only one in Bermuda. Had to go up a few levels to finish off that last Boss too.

I had to go out for Valentines dinner and believe me Gambit, that cost a whole lot more than doing this little H Quest.

Wow! Sorry to hear that bro. You should have done it on the first day cause i think you have 85% chance to get it than the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, & the last day has 50-50 or 60-40 chance to get it. In between days of collect 10 event, i think you have 35% or lower chance to get it. Gree set this all up & i had a ticket complaining about it a long time ago. The last day of the event they responded that said "Sorry for the bad luck & now we set it up more chances now to help you guys out."

Cause the next day, i heard people are still getting arrow & i decided to do it. Like Ratma did after me & he only did 4o gems reset. Ratma is one lucky bug, Lol..!

That says it all Gambit...it's obvious they rig the system. I'll be giving iTunes support a visit and that will be that. I've put up with enough of this, I've pumped thousands into this game and in the past month have been kicked in the face. I've pulled back heaps since my last issue, now I'm pulling back again and will withold spending money on this game till they sort their BEEP out. These events have nothing to do with luck.. They are clearly rigged. Making things unattainable for people who pay is Ludicrous... Why should they return if they pay but still miss out?

Which one is more beneficial for the box event ? Use gems for resets or use gems for 100% chance ?

I would use the gems to open the box. That way for twenty gems you're guaranteed an open box. If you use twenty gems for a reset then gold or a knife to open the boxes, you may get a Sorry! which is a waste of twenty gems. If you use twenty gems to open the box, too, that's forty gems spent to open a box. With four days left to get ten arrows, I would wait until the last day to start using forty gems to open boxes.

You're in a really good position, though. I started today off at 7/10 on gold opens and now I am sitting at 9/10 after getting 8 and 9 back to back.

So my HS is only 103. I'm currently level 107. Oh, congrats on the bow. Looks like I may not have jinxed myself. Had quite a few sorries yesterday, but I'm up to 7 arrows. Doesn't look like I'm gonna finish the LTQ though. Was gonna buy gems, but even if I do, I'll need to buy more than I can afford to finish. Guess I'll just go as far as I can for free and save the buying gems until there's an LTQ that it looks like I can finish reasonably. Good luck to you, and everyone else, going for the finish. I think I saw you're at 7/8? You're getting close man. I think you'll make it.

I think you are into something, I got 7 arrows first 24 hours (a pain during AM...), then got the other 3 the following 24 hours (approx). So I got my bow without gems ^^
I have always thought I had bad luck with box events of any time but here chances may have changed? (or i got bloody lucky)

Based on the in-game FAQ, it makes sense that you get more at the beginning of the event, because it states that every time you get the quest item your chances for another one go down. So, once you get #1, you have less of a chance to get another quest item to bring you up to having 2. Once you get #2, the chances of getting a quest item go down. So, the more quest items you have, the lower your chance to get another quest item. I have created this handy chart for this indirect relationship for all you visual learners:

Oh yes! On the subject that probabilities of quest item going down every time you get one: Yes that seems to be the case, but in each box event I found that in the last 12-24 hours you get more quest items.
-So day one more chances
-Then a couple of days of nail biting (depending on duration of event)
-Last day, maybe 12 hours you get 2 maybe 3 with a rate that had never happened the last 2 days of nail biting.

And as someone has said in the past, it helps to jump on one leg and bark at the same time while pressing the button (it also helps further to be seen doing this by your mother in law...)

I've been stuck at 5/10 for over 24 hours. On the few that do open, been getting honor and gold. I won't be spending gems on this only to get a guaranteed open for honor or gold. I'll keep trying for gold opens, but after I got the 5th arrow the odds of opening for another arrow seem to have dropped to ridiculously low levels.

I am with you on this one Cloud - have nearly 200 HS and the Heroic weapon from the last LTQ and it still took me nearly a whole day to kill the first Hellhound!

I appreciate that the first LTQ was a bit too easy getting through to the Heroic round but I think they went a little bit too far with this one!!!

Then... today I hit a streak of 6 straight opens... 5 of which were arrows. Now sitting on eight and hopeful I can finish and get the bow. All gold options so far by the way.

So I got the bow, but I never really understood how the army attack bonus works (even though I made the error of investing heavily in it). Could someone please explain it to me?

Attack points adds to one's hits during PvP, raids and Boss events (somehow adds to your hits, though not sure by what calculations).

Additionally, it is so far the best weapon out there (that I remember), so will help a lot with most all of the LTQ's that have been coming out.

Actually, it is one of the good investments in the game.

No problem. But TBH, I don't know what the multiplier is. I know it is somewhere in one of the 800+ threads, so you could search it with some key words if you want, or I am sure someone reading this will either comment about it, direct to a posting/thread or hopefully both.

And well done! I haven't used gems myself yet. I'm hoping it will happen tonight or early tomorrow. Then it could be worth it to use gems for the second half of the current LTQ, and get the Valentine warrior - 9k+ attack will greatly help my numbers. :)

After 5 arrows out my first 6 boxes I knew the luck wouldn't keep running, but getting 1 or two arrows a day since has been painful...

I have no faith in GREE'S algorithm even when spending. I'll just open with gold now... After not receiving the broodmother as others had also experienced...this experience is pushing me too far.

Are some of the players in this game that rich? People talking about spending 5000-10000 (or even more) gems to complete this LTQ. That is just for this LTQ. I cringe when I buy a single Mountain of Gems.

And the more unreasonable the cost of every event gets, the more logarithmic the increase in cost to win an event, the more logarithmic the increase in number of LOST customers - people who will leave your game and not only never return to it, but likely be so pissed off they never buy anything more from any Gree game.

I am not sure how many boxes i have opened, but the last ten that have been successful have only been gold...usually 1000 (pay over 2k, get back 1k). I think i will be stuck at 6. Thing is for me, I do not mind spending a little of my hard earned on this game. However there are little things that bug me. This latest quest it is not so much the spend as it is the the amount of experience points that accumulate when attacking those big point units. I would rather see experience points accumulate like the gold, ie when the unit is killed only not for every hit. This quest has cost me 12 levels. When one kills one unit and it takes you through two levels, ugh
I am not even half way through the very original quest and have not got to the end maps at all. And stilling sitting at level 140+
I guess something to do when I get to L200 which at this rate is about 3 quests away..

I managed to get #8 yesterday and will continue, gold option only, in hopes of getting 10, or even 9 as you said is a worthy unit. As for the other quest, not going to spend that kind of money. But gold for a shot of this one, yeah, I'll try.

You will need gems to finish the The last dude he has around 8-9 K strength and hits back at around 180-190.
With time remaining and regen time you will only scratch him in the left knee with your Bow...if you have 1, not that it made much of a difference getting the bow, good luck!
For other I would just chip away at the hounds while waiting for box to open, save your Gems, no point wasting them on something that doesn't give much back ...IMO

4 Sorry and 1 20k gold this morning.... could care less about the gold.... not ready to use (more) gems for this, but day 3? 4? of sitting at 8/10 arrows? I lost track....
On the plus side, nickle and diming the minotaurs... with their return hit, it is far better for me to hit them as my energy allows... much nicer to lose 1-2 energy in return fire than it does to get hit for 86....
I wont use gems for them, not that I will need to, as I will be 3/4 in about 2 hours.... the Hounds can go to hell... Lol

I've been opening boxes with them as well. I know, it's INSANE. It seems like they've tweaked how the PvE plays out because I'm getting far fewer "missed" messages and much more damage (also high energy expenditures) in this event than in past events. I have tried to move my avatar to the back of the beast, but it automatically moves me back to the front of the beast so it doesn't miss. GREEdy has definitely modified the code to do this on purpose to increase gem usage and, hence, profits. Is anyone else noticing this? I am wondering if its because I received my first bonus from buying so many gems last month, so now I'm treated differently (like gem spenders cannot get free gems). I thought it would take awhile to spend all those gems. Surprise!...

Ditch the bow you don't really need it to complete the main part of the LTQ, go for the Hounddogs and work on arrows last, time running out, I would rather a unit at 9K than a Bow wort 85 , and don't buy beer! It messes with your brain get Bournon or Rum or something stronger !

I do believe I see the end of the road for both this game and MQ, certainly as far as the LTQ's go and for my ipad1 the game itself.

Map Nerfing due to the monster health issue:
The tipping point has been where I noticed that the return attack is close or even outpointing that required to attack.

For KA the future with this 100 point skill adding bow in play likely means the next LTQ based on the maps will again have an increase in the return attack from the monster.

I already have many more beasts in the maps due to the range of LTQ's that occurred than were there originally.

Knocking them over once for the LTQ was fine. having them hang around cluttering up the scenery is not and the amount of energy required to do a second removal of them from the maps has grown disproportionately to the stat/skill increase I had been able to achieve within the game. Let alone that the Rate at which the quests have come along has accelerated as well.

As an example of the problems in this current quest I know if it is snowing in the map I wish to get to as the app crashes, when the weather is fine in the map it is able to be accessed.

I fail to comprehend why the LTQ monsters cannot be removed at the end of the quest time....they do it for the various collect ten and auction events. At the very least they could drop the hit health required to knock them over down to a very low level so they can be cleared out easily.

As for the MQ quests they have pretty much gone an identical path, they have run several LTQ's with an imbalanced stat monster compared to the previously achievable in game operations and now have based the intensity of the quest with those high stat units in play.

In both cases what they are doing is deliberately nullifying the advantage which these awards were supposed to provide for the person who undertook the challenge and likely spent gems in obtaining them.

Was hoping to use it in the other one but I think I am done spending gems to speed this crap up. Gonna be stonewalled anyways so will wait and do a mad dash on gems if I have to because I have to have the bow (new player w/ crap max cash wep).

I had this happen to me on my old router slow and data drops caused my issue, hit the refil and would double or triple the gem spend, yes gave me a full energy but when I was at 1200 and a fill is 1000 you don't get change, I just tap once and leave it , if it don't work back out of event and get back in or close game and re-enter, costly net drops !

Yes I finally got the bow! And without spending any gems either :) so for all of you still trying...good luck! Just keep trying every hour. The last one is hard to get though....I went close to 2 days before getting it.

And a note for GREE...if you want people to spend more money on gems I really recommend not doing LTQs that depend on a random drop. I was more than willing to spend money on gems up to a certain amount for the bow. What holds a lot of people back or gets them upset even if they do spend money is not knowing if you will get the item. I really liked the Vaults of Asgard one because if you kill the mob you were gonna get the item...no amount of randomness. Then you can decide if spending the gems is worth the unit. With the random drop or open factor it feels like you are just gambling in Vegas and it sucks when you lose. I would much rather have to get more arrows to get the bow but knowing that every open you get an arrow. It makes it easier to decide to spend money on the gems knowing you will probably get it than that its all up to luck. You know people are willing to spend money on the game but if in the end the customer is not happy, they will stop spending.

Ditch the bow you don't really need it to complete the main part of the LTQ, go for the Hounddogs and work on arrows last, time running out, I would rather a unit at 9K than a Bow wort 85 , and don't buy beer! It messes with your brain get Bournon or Rum or something stronger !

Going on day 3 of no arrows since # 7. The ratio must be 1/20 boxes opened has an actual arrow. 1/3 seem to have 7500g as consolation prize for 8550g spent opening said three boxes.

Not really a point to argue but just saying for those who have already reached the top prize they virtually quit spending gems on the boxes and thus
they accumulate and don't get opened. For us gem spenders and light spenders it is an option to garner additional wealth if we chose to do it.

Well I'm on 9 arrows using gold opens, hoping I can manage #10 in the next day and a half till the event ends. Wonder how low the odds are for obtaining an arrow on #10 (compared to it not opening at all using gold, or Honor or Gold). If I have to I'll see if I can go into overtime, but think I may be able to pull it off. We'll see.

I stopped on the other event as it took me a couple days to knock down the Minotaur's health and realized I wouldn't be able to finish even that part in time. Back to mastering maps until next LTQ.

I have also noticed that sometimes I can get two chances for an open box by doing the following... Wait for the timer to reach zero then hit the gold option now we wait for the prize box window to open up and either you get a wonderful arrow or whatever the main prize is or the ever HATEFULLLLLL uuuggghhhh I just want to break your stupid face GREE for making my life hell (sry small rant as I am stuck on 9arrows for two days with all options being used.) anyway as the prize box open be ready to hit the part that says ok (to make the box go away and the new timer to start) if you will direct your attention to the background notice that the gold option is still available for a split second if you hit this combo rapidly enough you may get a second opportunity to open a box. It does not happen every time for me but I have done it and sometimes I win both win one or please refer to my rant above..LOL

I have few other thing to add to this forum while this is my first ever post I want to thank everyone who contributes the info and insights into the game from the1and only all the way to the guy that just started thank you your insights help us to make up our mind about going for the prize or not. In my opinion the complete randomness of the boxes is the worst part. some win with free options some don't win with the gem options and if your lucky you win with the gold option and sing good graces I was lucky enough to win without having to chance gems. I spend on gems when I feel that the quest is attainable or completable however it seems even that is open for debate as to whether you can finish them in time without going absolutely insane on gems because honestly you can win every one if you just keep buying gems. But with the exception of the people top 20 of 30 who have the ability to spend money on here until they win or for the hackers who do anything they want until they win (which everyone say thank you for the free game because of those who spend their hard earned dollar on the game) I want to know that we all can get back something for the money if we chose to spend it or not.

To the people who make this game. Thanks for a cool game. I really do love to play this game as do many others. If you keep upping the ante for every LTQ or Box Event or whatever special item you want people to win buy spending cash...... Your either gonna make people not want to spend money on it ever or worse for you chase everyone away until you don't have a company. Just one persons opinion and like a--h--es everyone has one.

I'm a free player, i get gems only by tapjoy app and ingame video.
I used and will use my only 100 trying to get cupid bow cause get nothing without.
I have already open 3box and those get me 7.500money 500honor(...) and 1000money!
That's more frustrating than simply try gold option to open those box, really poor reward for gems wasting no?

I'm playing for a little more than 1 month now and am a daily player, this cuplid quest is really something!
I pay the required cold for opening the boxes

1st day, I opened every hour the box, end of the day I had 7 arrows
2nd day, I opened every hour the box ( 16 boxes) but not much luck, 1 arrow
3rd day, I opened every hour the box ( 17 boxes) but again no luck, no arrows!
4th day, I still open every box! but still no arrows !!!!

I wonder, how is it possible when you pay every time the 2000 cold and still not receive anything ?

Is there only a fair chance when you by gems and pay with that???

If you feel like you are close, you are more likely to spend gems. That's why there are difficulty ramps in all these events. I guess the latest ltq is an exception, where even stage 1 was a bit hard.

I am happy to have finished the Minotaurs. After reading, I knew I would not be able to finish this LTQ without spending thousands of gems (which I did not have). The gems I had would possibly have gotten me through the hounds, but I didnt have it in me to buy another 4 mountain of gems....

i spent 400 gems to get the 10 arrow and didnt get it ... and decided i will not buy any gems anymore ... its a waste of money . it`s all about "luck" ... well a lot of players got it for free others spent huge amounts of gems and still didnt get it so whats the point of spending gems on it ?

Spending gems does not guarantee anything, it just increases the chance you will win. I won the bow on day two without spending anything - I was simply very lucky this time around.

a lot of us are sitting on 9/10 for over 2 days ... except jonny that got his last 3 arrows yesterday :D

I've been sitting on 9/10 since Thursday night despite attempting to open a minimum of 50 boxes and probably close to 60 boxes since I got my 9th one.

Stupid Jonny was still at 6/10 when I got my ninth one. Now that clownhopper has his bow and I owe him an elbow to the neck. That's gas money I could have spent on gems...

Before I make it to your house, make sure you find a good restaurant for me to eat at when I get to your town, Jonny. haha

At least I accomplished my goal of getting to 6/8 in the other LTQ to get my sweet Possessed Minotaur.

Given an open, and given you already have 9 arrows, it's around a 2% chance.

Other players have worked out the %'s for MW and CC collect 10 events, so this is all assuming KA has the same #'s.

It took me about 30 boxes to get that last arrow. I'm just glad I finally got it.
