Just saying that if your accumulating dragons that rusty knife might be better than the gold option. Say I try to open 50 crates (roughly the amount ill try) with gold that's 13 dragons I could have brought. But I have more of a chance to get an indestructible better than a dragon...

People opinions differ but for me I'm just locking in the dragons. To me it just seems to be a better option.

I will take your comments as you say, light-heartiness. It initially was not taken as such. I was only trying to bring about point that it seems to me that these events should be geared towards different levels so that the greater benefit can be achieved by what players current needs are, rather then award someone something they really don't need. Again you make a valid good point that it may be wise to keep them away from the lower levels. I know if I go to war with someone I want them to be close to my stats. Perhaps not intelligent, but when I defeat them it gives me a sense of satisfaction. There can be no satisfaction in defeating a rival that you know you can beat. That's not to say that I have not raided kingdoms that had low stats but were overflowing with gold, I just won't war with them there in lies the difference. Peace

A definite 1 percenter. Others have got it quicker but not many. kruppe would have coded a trigger after maybe after say, 5000 gems to increase the odds but not to be...

Yep, similar to the worms of Arakis, from the film Dune. Looking forward to playing it as it will at least be a visibly attainable event...we can only hope. ;)

Like most here I'm still sitting on 7/8, but since day 1. Ratma, Gryffyn, Acidist and others im sure, sine playing from day 1 have spent a stack of cash to give them the best chance to get it...to no avail. As for me, still no Ragging Chimera...but luckily for me, although unlucky for others, I haven't spent any money to chase its illusive presence down.

I can garruntee that they put in a modifier into the algorithm that once you reach 7/8, your chances drop significantly on opening a box and receiving the one unit you are missing. But it also seems to be that the Chimera is the most illusive unit to recieve so let's add another modifier in there. This tells me that GREE aren't making the events more player friendly, seems like the recent LTQ events in box events have been used to tweak the best outcome for GREEs revenue.

That's enough warning signs for me to hold back my cash and play something that gives me a more visible and attainable outcome for my purchase.

These box events suck!

It always starts promising with a lot of eggs on the first day. Then you get one "sorry" after another. And in the end it usually gets a little bit better again.

So as free player there´s no chance to make it to the top 250 players. And the units you can get for 10 oder even 15 eggs are already useless for me.

I did it! I finally got the Fire Broodmother!!! Woohoo! I spent a mix of gold and about 200 gems but she's wonderful for my rather weak character I can't seem to make much more powerful :(

Have 35 eggs, spent way too many gems... Not sure if my strategy is good, but been using gems to open. I'm level 24 and don't make much money just started playing this week.

How are people getting so many eggs? Are they really high level and have the income to spend? Do people reset their timers or just wait an hour?

What Is the best place to farm boxes? I seem to run out of energy othe harder map levels, but they seem to drop quicker... Should I try easy levels where i can. Kill more?

This might be Gree's cruelest and most profitable event yet. For me, I got 7/8 using gems in the first hour, then in the process of getting the last creature ( chimera) I burned up enough gems to place me well into the top fifty. Well that was day one, Now I have used an embarrassing # of gems just trying to keep my nose just barely into the top fifty, and I know the last few hours people are really going to burn. You know, in for a penny, in for a pound.

My heart actually dropped for a second when I got the chimaera early on and when I saw that it had high stats and it was only in the 3rd spot, I figured I never had a chance to finish this quest. They were definitely tricky on that one.

This has been a hot/cold event for me. 1st try and I got the Forest Hunter, 12 sorrys and then a streak of 4 opens followed by a Crazed Cockatrice. Now its back to sorry time after time. All of these are the free option - figure I'll save my gold for dragon purchases.

Can't complain, I got one better than dragon unit for nothing. Still, I'm looking forward to the next event as the auction events are where I see the smallest returns.

I'm not in it - I had an issue buying gems at around 35 eggs (they weren't credited, I was about 15th at the time) then I had to wait 2 days to find out if the payment came off my account. After that I was too far behind and didn't have the time to catch up. If it hadn't been for that I probably would have gone for it.

I think the fact that I'd already got the Fire Broodmother weighed into the decision as well.

I'm pretty sure there are a few bonus processing specialists, not just her. She cannot be the only one who does the bonus processing. I remember in an email Stephen said that my email has been sent to one of our bonus processing specialists.

Dr d is right. The mw faction war was a huge money maker for gree. They had a 40% sale right before the start and I'm sure there were more than a few players that hit the max bonus on that one event. The amount of gems spent on that event was mind boggling.

Good luck to those remaining in the hunt for top 50. Crunch time is upon us with around 30 minutes left. Time your open runs well boys and girls. A little tip is the will be breaks of good opening times and bad. Go nuts when your on a good run, sit back for 5 or 10 minutes on a bad one after opening 5. That's my tip. GO GO GO!

Oh, and like many of you...still no ragging chimera...wasted opportunity for all I must say.

I have spent lot of Money for this Event.Now i am angry and have nothing.I am not rich and dont play for sure Top 50 or Events for Money now.
I was daily in Top 50.i had yesterday evening 15 or 16 Place, then i woke up and see i am no more in top 50.Also i have quick opened more Eggs and got 146 Eggs.I see later on Leaderboard, but i am not in Top50 and Leaderbord is frozen.
Much much Money gone for nothing.Now i am despaired and angry.I dont have the Broodmother and the Top 50 unit.

Now ive never played this event before and probably never will again like i said earlier, but i think maybe your strategy is a little wrong. I think its better to do what i did and always just lie one box behind top 50. And then burn rubber in the last hour or so. In that way atleast YOU dont make people try getting past you all the time. If you know what i mean. If more people did this, the total for this event would be a lot less dragon eggs for everyone. (the action in the end will be there anyway, like you painfully experienced i guess)
