Prizes inflation is unbelievable indeed! I fondly remember those long begone days when a dragon army was something to behold/be proud of. The top prize here alone (oh well, together with all the subordinate ones included in the package) worth a dragon army and is indestructible to boot...Free playing is over.

Haven't I been saying it guys! The auction event stats needed to be raised. Especially the no.1 prize. That 10,000 figure is more realistic for what the top runners are paying.

so i am new to these forums and i have been reading through some of these posts on this thread. i had the egg quest just open up for me i have 1 egg says i need 2 more to be in the top 250. i have noticed that the leader has 60 eggs already?? i also read that 1 person spent 6000 gems? so do you actually spend 400.00 on the game for gems? im just wondering cause i have a really good attack and defense for my lvl and have been lucky enough to get some high quality characters. but i havent spent more then 20 bucks on certain things total. thanks for any advice or help you guys can give me

The whole game play seems to have shifted to getting players to spend as many gems as possible to get indestructible units. I mean I know that the business model will always be to encourage gem purchases and usage, but the emphasis on doing so now has gone up exponentially. Not too sure if that is a good thing for the game overall.

That's why we call them Auction Events - the more money you spend the better the chance of finishing higher. Some big spenders spend 1000s of RL dollars on these events. You can get lucky and finish Top 250 using just free/gold opens, but not this one.

Using gold options shouldn't be a problem for you going by your KA IPH in your sig. 191k?? Really?

Yep have to agree with you on that, I passed a player last night doing his run with lower stats than me and with 1.2M in gold but as I was doing mine as well I let him go , but I have seen REAL low stats around LVL 115 of only 16/18K that's ridiculous !
I am now in this event but don't like my chances after spending 260 gems last nite cause my ambitions outwayed my capabilities ! But have2 Eggs ....wow

I'm sitting in the top 250 currently, but will struggle to catch the top 50 which is 10+ now already. This things going to blow past 100 eggs for sure. I think the top 50 position is more important the the 1st position.
My advice to anyone now is do what The1 is doing, spend big now and get over 100, then sit and watch. I wish I could have saved all my gems for this event and not the last box event. Hindsight wld have been ideal in this circumstance...

2 Buldings at once is junk for high level people because we already have 1500+ dragons and all boost buildings at level 10 so no point to spend that much for useless upgrade , some boost stat would be usefull and that LTQ is the worse event , I'm not feeling like using 5k gems to get that unit .

The perk is that the box event is combined with a LTQ. You can only get Phoenix Eggs or Indestructible Units. Collect eggs to get units, or just get units. There are 8 in total that you can get randomly. The1nOnly posted the pic. It's not bad to just play with Gold, or free. Don't bow out, yet!

Either you're really lucky or I'm really unlucky. In thirteen attempts I've received 5 eggs, 1 angry basilisk, and 7 Sorry!s including a current streak of five straight Sorry!s.

I'm 2 eggs for 9 tries with the gold option. I have the worst luck with the box events... only once did I ever even get to 15. But I usually do pretty well with the LTQs, and before I hit the top bracket, the boss events, too, so it all evens out. Some events are skill, some are luck, most require a fair bit of persistence, and all can be won by throwing lots of money at them!

I hear that... I've gone only 5 for about 23 with 4 eggs. If Gree is trying to entice me to buy more gems, they're going to have to bait me a little better than that.

Normally I tend to know whether I need to use gems to open very early in the event. If I get 2 or 3 sorries in a row with gold option at the start, I know I need to use gems to open.

Normally I tend to know whether I need to use gems to open very early in the event. If I get 2 or 3 sorries in a row with gold option at the start, I know I need to use gems to open.

This event is all gem opens for me. All gold opens so far have got sorrys. Previous box event the first 3 or 4 all were gold opens, and also had quite a few gold opens along the way. Still costed 8,000 gems for position 20 I think, Top 50.

Well, off to a mediocre start here: 6 eggs (at the moment, Top 250 is 8 eggs, Top 50 is 24), plus 3 useless spiny stalkers & 2 even more useless rabid predators. Lost count of how many sorry's. BUT there's still over 4 days left so maybe I can score the 8 units and get the Broodmother. I'd have to get really close to start spending any gems on this one, though. I spent a lot on the last quest and I like the LTQ's better - other than a few parts involving an indeterminate # of enemies to kill, it's a sure thing you'll get something good, and known, for what you spend. These couldn't be farther from a sure thing.

Sorry mate but no chance of making the top 50 unless you are willing to spend money on gems. The last box event required 57 to make top 50, and only the higher lvl players at 57 opens made it in the top 50. This one has blown the daily requirement over previous box events already now top 50 is at 26. The final day you will see people go nuts for this one, and I'm betting more than last event. Last event rank 50 had 41 on the final day. It blew out to 57 at the end of the event.

If you really want it you have to commit now! Go for 100 opens or else you'll be catching your own tail. Just ask us players in the know who have played this event...you'll have no chance using gold.

At least they've made a step in the right direction by getting rid of the absolutely useless gold and honour rewards - golds pointless and honour, well it just gets added to the pile of 25,000 I've got, given that the honour units are terrible if you've got a decent income.*

Ouch ! Have you tried just using gems for the open rather than resetting time ? Saves a packet but guarantees open!
I am on same but have only spent like 200 , some gold , some rusty knife, no harm I mixing it up never know might get lucky !

Lol. No.

But, killing 100 Goblins in Crossroads might yield 50 Boxes. I wouldn't want those. That means that any player could rack up 100's if not 1000's of Boxes.

However, killing from high level maps typically yields better loot. I've paid attention over the course of many Box events. I don't use Gems for these, though. It's crazy.

BTW. I've only got 4 Sorries. ;)

Correct a box is a box ! But some people are particular where they get their boxes from ! It is a random item in the box but as with Jonny and myself if you get a box from a player or lower maps IT MIGHT lesson the chane of getting what you want , rather than sorry ! Then again we might just be paranoid !

My advice to you is to buy 5 vaults of gems & is now 20% off & you will get 2500 extra bonus for buying 5 vaults. Send a ticket after you purchase 5 of them & then do resets like crazy & you will get the price you wanted. Good Luck to you mon ami..!

My experience in these events tell me the algorithm is calculated on the opening of the box and that no box from any specific source will yield or hold the desired trinket before opened.

Yeah, it's just luck. The only guarantee you have is putting money in, and you will definitely open a box.

As a point, I too have only ever gone to a lower stage since I've been playing this game since last April. Sometimes I have gotten in top 250, one time top 50, with only gold and free options.

I suggest pushing and holding on the open button, chanting, "c'mon!!!" while spinning three times around, toss the phone or iPad in the air, catch it and you could have a better chance of it opening. Never tried though.

Hello all, this box event seems crazy to me for players at higher levels. Why would they need to upgrade two buildings at same time, it seems likely that they already have most of their buildings upgraded to ten anyway. It would be more beneficial for payers at my level to have this advantage. Yet the leader board holds the same names as usual. I understand the top prize is huge but unless you are typically in the top five do you really stand a chance of winning this? Seems that they should gear these events and rewards to the levels rather than in general, perhaps the huge gaps between players could be closed some and Make things more competitive, thus the gods of gree would make more $. Just a thought. Peace

In terms of the box prize, I agree with other posters that tiered levels would benefit the mid-levels more. Who wouldn't want two buildings upgraded at once? However, who wants to afford hundreds/thousands of dollars for one event? Perhaps I'm not as dedicated to the cause. :p

No. What you're saying is tailor the game to people like you, who don't actively contribute yet want everything those players are putting into this game. It also creates no competitiveness. It creates equality, and when every single player is playing the same way. It's over.

In terms of the box prize, I agree with other posters that tiered levels would benefit the mid-levels more. Who wouldn't want two buildings upgraded at once? However, who wants to afford hundreds/thousands of dollars for one event? Perhaps I'm not as dedicated to the cause.

1- there is no way in hell i am going to end up in the top 50ouch
2 i spent 200 on gems 3 hours before the 20 percent off started. i sent gree a message and they were very nice and credited me 480 gems.
3 i have 31 eggs and i am hoping my 200 bucks at least keeps me in the top 250.

Got 6/8 units on the first day of the event and have needed the horned brute and mythological? Chimera ever since... Been hovering in & out of the 250 as well. Gave up on the 50 as soon as i saw what that prize was.

Just using gems for opens but the pressure's building to bust loose on those!

Lol, I think you misunderstood me. First I do contribute to the game there are so many Rk trying to kill me off they spend lots of money to try an accomplish this feat to no avail. I have spent real money on the game just not for my own benefit but to benefit another player. I have thought of doing so in "competitive" situations so I didn't lose an edge in my war efforts but that old adage played over and over in my mind " a fool and his money are soon departed" I have seen people on here that could not afford to spend real money do so. I can afford it but I choose to invest my money that brings back a return on the investment. As to my point it was simply ... What use is there in a player at higher levels to win the top fifty of building two upgrades at the same time? They likely have maxed out or are close to doing so anyway, the events that cause them to replenish their health faster things of that nature are more advantageous to them, this event is geared to lower levels, closing the gap does create competition, are you going to battle with someone that has stats double or triple yours? Not likely, but if they are closer to you in numbers the war may rage on and perhaps caught up in the moment, someone may chose to get out the wallet in order to stay competitive. What use is there in a player at higher levels to win the top fifty of building two upgrades at the same time?

First and foremost, to prevent other players from getting the advantage. Eventually many players will be in the same bracket. Guess who wins? The stronger, with more perks. I attack all those in my level bracket with BD8 & 9. Why? To prevent them from getting that next step. Dragons. Limit the competition. This is the same situation. Don't give others the "one up".
Two. To get the unit that comes along with it. :p Duh.

Went Sorry for my first 8 opens. Opened up pretty much everyone I could yesterday without using gems, and finished with 7 eggs before I got my first unit. Since I got my first unit, I have probably hit up maybe 15 opens with 2 eggs (9 total) and like 7 units (5 different ones). In the same time frame, my buddy opened the same amount and got 8 eggs and the rest units. Stupid RNG.

Okay just started playing KA Jan 4, and this has been my worst event for me. Event started out good, first day got 7 eggs out of first 15 boxes of play (4straight eggs before game crashed). On second day 5 straight gigantic worms . after getting off worm train got 4 strait rabid predators. then 2 basilisk, 1 cockatrice, 2 spiny mixed sorry between. All units came on days 2-3 with no eggs for me. Now through last 10 openings got 2 straight rabid and finally 2 eggs, but the strange thing my fire egg box got stuck at 18. 3 openings ( all sorry) still showed I have 18 boxes but should be 15. I rebooted and after last opening is basilisk and box count drop to 17. I don't think is so random in my case. I Will let it drop to 0 and try getting box drops from various maps and see if I can get on a better train. Also I've just been using gold to open boxes.

To be fair, I originally never said you were a heavy spender. I just said you spend real money on the game. Even if you and Ratma would be considered light to moderate spenders, you still spent more than me in any given month. Compared to me, you ARE heavy spenders. Regardless, it is appreciated.

Correct a box is a box ! But some people are particular where they get their boxes from ! It is a random item in the box but as with Jonny and myself if you get a box from a player or lower maps IT MIGHT lesson the chane of getting what you want , rather than sorry ! Then again we might just be paranoid !

It could be correlation and not causation, but I have noticed I have been opening many more boxes since I have started collecting them from the Garden of Gain instead of the Crossroads. From the Crossroads, I had Sorry! streaks of 7 and 9. Since going to the Garden of Gain, I have only had two Sorry!s consecutively one time. So, I'm going to go with collecting boxes from higher level maps until the current data I have becomes obsolete.

I couldn't justify paying that sort of money again for a small trinket in this game.
I feel there will be a huge unseen issue after this event...in the lives of those who went too far to get this...know your limits people.

With 2 days exactly left, we are at 74 for rank #50. I feel this may even be pushed to 150 for a top 50 position now...with an average of 27 eggs a day...the final push in overtime could see the average blow out in the final hour as people try to cement their position in the top 50.

I feel better now that I'm sitting back and not going for it...but I feel for those who have pushed themselves to stay in contention, but will be faced to go beyond their limit to gain this trinket. The hard thing is once you commit, you have to go the whole way...thats what an addiction expects of you. Unfortunately, that's the nature of gambling. Which is what this event, is in its true nature, is. The only problem here is no one ever really gets back in value what they put in. I only hope that people know when to say NO MORE! Because to be honest this event will drive people way beyond their limits in the dying hour of this event. Make a quality choice peeps of when enough is enough for you. Gotta be honest, if I had a spare $640 to spend on a single video game, I would buy myself a 4th gen iPad for $600 and Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition off the App Store for $9.99; and you people would never see me again. In fact, most people outside of my work, church, and house wouldn't see me for quite some time.

I agree. If I'd have found this forum a lot sooner, I would be doing a lot better. During a time when people were camping and doing BD10 runs, I was powerleveling to get to 500 allies at level 100. Now that I am level 100+ I am not doing as well as I could have been had I started coming here sooner.

Not knocking them Jonny, I know too well as I have indeed spent some large amounts of money on gems. Just putting myself out there as someone who is watchful of people pushing themselves too far.

Maybe I care a little too much, but that's me. If you knew me personally you would neither see me as suspicious or distrustful, on the contrary I'm usually seen by others as someone in life whom they can trust.

Not knocking anyone mate, simply reminding those who would be inclined to listen, to stick to your guns and know your limits, that's all. Exactly right and to the point! My interpretation of this has been twindleing for some time and even though I just got my BD10 and have started my big Dragoon army, I am at my depth with the amount I spend o this and can see NO benefit or real reward for my outlay! And so as this event gets close to the end I was 9 eggs I front of the last 250 but now with 3 eggs it's getting close to me being booted, I have spent 1000 gems on this and for what ! To watch my bank account twindleing and take it away from buying something for my kids, enough is the key word! And as said before "each to their own" but after serious thinking this weekend with the QLD FLOODS , I have plenty of time to LOOK at this game, and maybe have bitten off more than I can chew !not only that I am sick and tired of all the cheats and hackers loading what has taken me months to achieve ! As I spent the day analyzing stats and attack I now can pick these from actual players, so after this event I will only do LTQ as free to light spender and I mean like $20 max not $300
Beside I have my own chickens for my eggs and they cost way less

I agree whole heartedly. I've learned a great deal from these forum members. "I think" I know my limits as I've basically purchased gems for money buildings. I'm now learning that just having a high IPH will not do it, so I've amassed a solid army for my level and feel "safe"... Until I meet up with The1, Jonny, etc.

I never considered the fact that someone that high up would fear a player considerably lower than them. You have a good point in keeping your advantage over others. Personally It may be considered wise but also cowardly. Seems the better victory is one fought hard, giving it meaning. I battle won against someone that cannot possibly win is meaningless. Peace

Here's why you fear the underdog (in this instance, the LLP). When I was a LLP, I never had scratch offs, LTQ's or played with Gems. Now, the ability to earn so many great units & equipment while at a lower level will set you up better when you reach the same point we are at. That's really not that hard to understand. And, I bet over 1200 of my dragons were bought with the Gold and work of weaker, much weaker players. It's simple gameplay. I'll attack weaker players 'til the game ends. Why go up against someone at or around my same stats? I risk losing gold, units and time spent actually earning than re-buying.

Don't fear them [weaker players] for what they are. Fear them for what they can accomplish. ;)

I feel me realy crazy or f..ked now:mad:.I have opened 275 Eggs now, but i cant get: Raging Hydra.
Is this a error or Bug, or i have only bad Luck?.I dont now, but i cant laugh now.

Same here and getting to 15 without gems has always been difficult for me in the past. This time it was rusty knife all the way. 3 eggs and 3 units (2 into current army but will soon be replaced). easily wold have spent the equilivant of 10 dragons if I had used the gold option.......

But you'd have more than three eggs and three units.
