Well the point is to make money, right? I'm not saying its the most important, just that it should be the basis for the rivals list. The rivals list has to be based on something, so what should it be? I can think of a few options:
1. Level - Probably the best option, since it was the way the game started and many people played by this concept. It did encourage camping so I can sort of understand why it was changed, even though I disagree.
2. Att/Def stats - The dumbest idea possible, and also the current method. Getting stronger just gets you stronger rivals, so what's the point? When this method was implemented I dodged robbers by leaving my top 25 syndicate, dropping mafia, and skipping events. All in an attempt to make my stats bad. And guess what, it worked. All my rivals were less active players, so I hardly ever got robbed. Shouldn't the point be to encourage, not discourage, players from getting stronger?
3. IPH - I wrote about this earlier. It isn't perfect, but worlds better than the current system. It encourages both IPH and stat growth.
4. Nothing - You can see every single player in your rivals list. Each refresh give 20 new random players from the CC universe. Sure, low level players would get beat up once and a while by high level, but usually it wouldn't be worth the effort. Plus it would be next to impossible to find a specific player, so you might get hit once by a high level player, but you wouldn't have to worry about him coming back for more. There would be no reason (except for Epic Boss) to camp.
5. PVP Tournament - This is what they did in Knights & Dragons, and I thought it was great. Have a PVP tournament every cycle. Give points for successful wins and robberies. Your rivals list is everyone ranked near you in the tournament. So initially, you can see everyone, but win a few fights and you'll only see other active players. The list will sort itself out based on player strength and activity level. Those who want to camp, will get beat up for a few days, until the active players move up in the rankings. Active players will keep moving up until they have trouble finding people to beat. This would be a radical change, but I think it would be great.
Point of an online game for me is to have fun. Some do it by building iph, some by building other stats, some by doing well in syndicate events......whatever. I find robbing to be the most challenging part of the game, therefore the most fun. I have a decent iph but don't really see the point of it.
Still don't get why people think having the best iph means you are somehow "winning" the game.
Sure, people can enjoy whatever part of the game they want. You're not "winning" the game by having the highest IPH anymore than you are winning the game by being in the #1 syndicate. But like you said, some people care about it so they are winning the part of the game they enjoy.
You enjoy robbing, that's great. Do you like robbing Laundromats just as much as Nightclubs?
Nope there is no challenge in robbing a laundry.
Honored that you read my wall. Been awhile since I have actually looked at it so I just did. Not sure what you are referring to but it is full of people wishing me well, saying hello, joking around or asking me to join their syndicate.
Socialism (robbing) has ruined crime city just like it has ruined every society that has dabbled in it. The Marxists at GREE should remove rob and let free market capitalism thrive. Everyone should keep what they earn without having their wealth redistributed to leeches.
Ok. I am done with this thread. The raving lunatics have arrived to preach from their bully pulpit. My advice. Grab a Lagunita's Little Sumpin Ale and stop taking yourself and this game waaaaaay to seriously. You need to relax.
