I went there once without spending a vault of gold and got the blastshield. I probably dished 90 gold altogether to ensure I remained in the top 250 during that event.
There is no belief that the accrual of event items stops at the official conclusion of the event, despite the ability to open another case or two afterward? I don't think I've ever come upon an event item in stoppage time (just loot items, which used to make it worth it for an hour or two), and I don't recall hearing of anyone hitting 10 in this way either.Anything is possible: you might get, you may not... EDIT: previous posts remind me of top-250 shakeups in stoppage, so it is definitely possible. Remaining gold going in. Guaranteed opens or resets? With time against me I think it has to be resets + cash opens.

Agreed. The actions are always louder than words.
It's too bad that Gree, to avoid all the frustration of gold spenders, make a modification in the program. Not only whatever random generator they use but also a wild card. Spend a certain amount of Gold and you default to #10. Change the amount every contest if Gree so desires. I spent over 900 gold and the highest I've read was something like 4K gold. So make the auto win well over 4K gold.....those that want the item at any cost will spend spend spend! Of course the flip side is some may drop out but I think anyone playing the game for a long time or reading this board knows you have to spend serious gold (unless lucky or low level) to get the penultimate prize.
There is no evidence to support this. If you spend enough gold, odds are you'll get it. If you don't spend gold, odds are you won't. If you're using resets/gold opens to get #10, probability states you should expect to spend 1,500 gold. There are better times than others to do this, and if you angrily reset/gold open your RNG seed isn't moving on, and you can get stuck opening with an unlucky seed.
Also, Gree may be using Apple's own RNG, so to say this is a Gree specific problem may be premature.

Hi, mxz maybe cooch has a point because I m level 14 and got the tenth item with no gold, never had more than 7 crates and I wasn t even trying at this because my net was acting up due to a storm, so maybe he does have a point.

Under level 100 (or so, I'm not actually sure of the tiers) your odds of getting the 10th item are 30.21%, so no...he doesn't have a legitmate point. It should be much easier for a LLP to get it than a HLP. The difference between 30% and 2% are HUGE. On average, a LLP will get the 10th in 46/47 less tries than a HLP.

I'm level 141 and didn't get it with over 100 successful openings. 60 of which from 1500 gold. What a waste of $108. Only have a bunch of shetty axes out of it. Errrh!
I think it would only be fare if they post the actual odds some where. iTunes should make them!! I'm sure there getting lots of complaints.

Probability is funny like that. 2% doesn't mean you'll get it after 50 tries, it means that's the expected value.
And they do publish the actual odds, you're just not looking hard enough.

Even you have spent to get 60 successful opens, you still have 30% chance not to have one. 200 seems sufficient, but it costs as much as 6000 gold just for the 10th roll.
