Just finished boss #15 in 9 hits using cash . I got a busy weekend , I might run out of time . Trying to get to #20 without gold ...which I think I can but time is not on my side . Might need to use gold earlier than I should just to finish.

I wasn't planning on buying anymore gold because I'm still upset about he double currency event.. But this top unit has some ridiculous stats and your right, I think it could be attainable with a few hundred gold which is really good. So I just might give in

DEPENDS on how many you have killed with the cash option
I could barely killed #10 because I leveled up, it took all 18 free hits (first 3, waited 1 minuted, then 2, then level up for a refill, repeated for 5 more hits, the 2 hits every 27 minutes = 18 hits)
I do 51k dmage each hit, so boss #10 had 918,000 life points.
for me to kill the other 20 would probably need about like JMC said, about 3000 gold bars or $200 real cash
IT IS NOT WORTH PAYING $200 FOR SOME FANCY PIXELS
Also the prize drop is $HITTY, 9 commons and 1 uncommon, last event I got 6 rares, and by the time I hit boss #10 I had 2 rares then

well with winning a sealine bomber (high attack sea unit) it put me above 20k damage on the boss and im doing just as good on boss 18 as boss 17 so i might get lucky on 18 because i won a rare

That is almost exactly my situation, topped out at 17. Accidentally burned a level up, too. Ryan, try to do some level ups to save a Medkit or 3. I'm thinking I'll need right around 480. Seriously debating whether to stop and save it for a future air unit, but if the boss strength keeps going up I doubt I'll buy more gold. So probably will keep going.

Updating...I'm out. This prediction in retrospect was overly optimistic. Last time I was able to go 5 levels before adding a 2nd medkit, this time it's 3 levels. #21 required 2. That projects out to needing 5 at level 30 alone, and 30 more on top of the 5 I already used. Not worth it when I could just buy a comparable LE, and make it an air unit related to my boost. Add to that the loot drops are worse this time (as others have pointed out), and I have stuff to do this weekend other than being tied to this game.

Good luck to the rest of you. If they come up with an air unit as the grand prize I might consider going through it again, though it is a massive time sink.

I just topped out on Boss number 22 without gold. I have roughly 46000 valor stored away. Should I use it all to buy another 160ish SFs and push forward? I don't mind using gold as long as it isn't until boss 25 or so.

I'm out at Boss 14 this time ladies and gents this Boss was a complete 180 turnaround for me as I made it to 36 on the last one...

I just got beat by a boss, refused to buy a med pack. I was really close, I thought I had him. This event was a lot tougher and stingier than the last event, so I am not sure how much of my Tapjoy gold I am willing to spend.

But I have a question. If you get beat does the boss keep the same stats for the next go around, or do the bosses stats go up. I know I have to increase my firepower anyway, to beat him the next round, but was wondering if I had to as well compensate for a stronger boss, even though I am essentially re-fighting the same level of boss.

I am sure this has been asked before, does increasing allies help? I am not a complete gold army, but I'm relatively strong. I tried adding allies last event (added 20 random requests) and didn't really notice a difference however, I have 40 requests in store and since I'm in a "cushy" zone I wanted to ask before I click "Accept All"....senior members, advice please?

I did not use one single Gold bar on the last boss event and I was at full allies on the last one my attack was around 7500 and I didn't have any problems beating him (Shamba) but for this one I went to 100 allies..around 6100 Attack and I thought it was my attack so I went to full allies again and kept struggling so I gave up on it at LVL 14.

Wow. I got stopped at 18 here and had to use gold to finish him off hopefully I can win this 19-30 with roughy 480 gold.

I can't beat this one either seq... I beat the last one with 20 gold spent and this one I can't beat number 10
At least I got a rare ship (coast bomber) with my last win
