Step 1. Schedule war regardless of when people want it
    Step 2. ??
    Step 3. Huge profit
Does #2 perhaps involve walking around the office with stolen underpants on one's head?

Well.. We in Europe are constantly screwed having every GLTQ start when we are going to bed. So I dont mind having a war on a USA holiday. Like some already have said. If Gree adjusts to USA holidays they should for every country because its a global game. The argument that Gree will loose money is an argument I laugh about. Its also unfair that the war ends on a monday. Players not working has an advantage. Come on! Be with you family and forget the war for once. Its a new one in 2-3 weeks anyway.

The problem with wars on holidays will be minor if Gree decided to do a war only once each month.

I suspect the US revenue stream is substantial, which might upset Gree shareholders. But, Gree will do what they want and when the November revenue reports show a "dip" in profit margin and YtY growth, Gree might have their own case of sticker shock. Maybe, just maybe.
i'm not disrespecting your holiday at all, but expecting the rest of the world to adapt to your family holidays is just plain ridiculous.

I can imagine However how much more money will Gree get to postpone the war 1 weak? Maybe that gives 1 war less 2013. The non USA players how worthless they may even be for Gree should give more money than zero.

The last time a war was run over a a major US Holiday weekend it was Memorial Day weekend, which was the battle for Darkhome.
Average CP for top 10 over Memorial Day Weekend: 9,574,944 (Darkhome, 5/24-5/28)
Average CP for top 10 the next war after Darkhome: 17,010,555 (Shipwreck Cove, 8/16-8/19)

8 of the top 10 guilds in Shipwreck Cove scored MORE than the average of the top 10 in Darkhome.

    Just sayin.

Was there a lot of complaining about a war on Memorial Day weekend? Sorry, I don't do crap for Memorial Day. Thanksgiving is the holiday with the heaviest travel, including trips across country to be with family. I've never traveled out of state or farther for Memorial Day. It's common for Thanksgiving. There is no Memorial Day Black Friday. Memorial Day is not in any way comparable to the event that Thanksgiving is. None of which matters. Our guild won't participate. Others will. I get the impression from the forum that Gree won't care either way.

There was a goodly amount of complaining about the Memorial Day Event:

I posted in SUPPORT of moving the war - not just because I'm a Yank that loves his turkey, stuffing and green bean casserole more than I love having an iDevice or two strapped to my hip. It's just numbers, man. That support moving it, regardless of where you're from.

There are only 2-3 per year in most regions.

We're not going to stamp our feet or complain to Gree. The schedule is their decision, and it's this customer's decision to say, "No, thanks." Not spending money is the only communication commerce understands. If enough money votes no, a company will make a different decision in future. If enough ppl don't care about the timing and there is no dip in revenue, no change. Oh well.
Agreed. All good points. Money talks, and...well, we know the rest. Gree will do what Gree will do. It is our choice to participate, or not.

It's not an international holiday so just leave it as it is.

I haven't seen threads from other countries asking for wars and events to be moved due to their national holidays.
Changing the war date would just show favoritism and discriminate against the rest of the world.

I'm not a US based player and the start end end times for wars and events are extremely inconvenient as alonibb stated earlier.

Play if u can, don't play if u can't.... Just don't ask the rest of the world to change cause it's a inconvenience to you.

maybe start with the reason Darkhome had low cp. It was a boycotted war. Almost all top50 played free or mostly free that war.

    Show me a universal holiday?
Christmas isnt called Christmas anymore... we are forced to say Happy Holidays, not Merry Christmas.
New Years? Ask the Chinese what 1 January means to them.
It isnt too much to ask them to change one war this year to accommodate the 75% of the games population that is US.
I live in Japan, so my time zone isnt conducive to their hours either, as events start and end at 4am for me.

I hate to say this but ... in the end ... if you don't like the timing ... don't play ... those who do will appreciate it.
For all the talk that family is more important than the game ... if a major war/LTQ is scheduled for that day, how many players will NOT play? Some will show fortitude, many will cave and quietly sneak in hits, and others will gripe because they CANNOT play because they were in an impossible position to do so (eg, in front of the new in-laws, parents or on a plane). GREE knows that most players will be there ... so the game goes on.

    Namine,

Well then have just solidified my point...... War is scheduled.

As plenty of others have already said..... Play or don't play the option is yours.
