This is what makes this whole thing so frustrating. If EVERYONE was on the same rival list formula, we'd all be sitting out PVP, but at least it would be a level playing field. I'm getting hammered by players who DON'T have this rival list problem, watching my stats go down, down, down. My IPH is fine for developing my base OR developing my forces, but not both. I need PVP to keep up. Why has Gree closed off PVP for some of us, but not ALL of us?
It seems Gree are not going to change their policy (for reasons i can speculate separately) so i have a compromise idea:
Gree should provide an Immunity chest that can be bought for a set period (say 72hours) and resets every month.
For example, immunity can be bought for say 50gold or 50mil (high enough but not too high to be out of reach of most players), and once triggered, that player cannot be attacked or raided for a set period of time (can be 48, 72 hours or what seems fair). Once bought, immunity cannot be used again for 1 month according to a count-down timer.
Benefits of Immunity:
- Players with families can spend time with families.
- Players who take holidays to places where there is no wifi or cellular coverage don't need to worry that their inventory is being wiped out by raiders
- Satisfy the complaining campers (like me) who now find it impossible to go over vault for the bit upgrades. time big upgrades

I'd just like it to be consistent for everyone, regardless of what their decision is. Currently I am being attacked by people10-15 levels above me, but I cannot see them in my rivals list, nor can I see downward in mine. I am the former "normal", while others have this freedom.
It's kind of like not receiving your prizes during BFE and waiting for two weeks, while your rival factions have theirs and are using them to hit you. All we want is consistency, Gree.

^ your right, we can speculate all we want, but when you getting attacked by 10 levels higher than you and 1000+ more allies, it makes no sense. Is the number of players in this game so small that they need to make the playing field smaller?
One can only wonder. When the devs drop something this negative on SOME of their customers, you just gotta stand back and scratch your head. How did they choose the unlucky recipients? Is there a hidden message? Are we being punished? Did we do something to pi$$ the devs off? Have we not engaged in adequate amounts of bootlicking? If so, then I apologize for whatever and bow to our devs in recognition of their supreme excellence!
Seriously Gree. How can you continue to ignore these complaints? If you don't know how to fix it, just say so--and send us each a vault of gold to compensate ;-)

And please respond with more made up stuff about all the demand you had for this feature. Just have the guts to state outright the strategy (kill camping to promote more purchases) and stop cocking around with outright lies. It's embarrassing for a business professional.

When will this madness stop. Was raiding yesterday evening and again baam, got hit by a player who has 5x more allies than me and....is not visible on my rival list no matter how many times I refresh. Not so many levels and not so many allies arent seen. This crap happens every day, sometimes several times a day.
Greedy Gree, please FIX IT, or if U really wanna kill the game fast...make everyone see everyone, it will be a bloodbath for some weeks and after that, game dies

I'm being attacked regularly by someone with 300k attack. My defense is 82k boosted. Gree calls that "matched on power," lol. But I wouldn't mind that mismatch if there were people on my list who were that much weaker than me. I'd take advantage of it just like Mr. 300k. It just pi$$es me off that it's so lopsided. I lost 300 pts on my attack and 250 pts on defense yesterday to attacks from people like this Mr. 300k. And because Gree won't let me turn around and attack below me, I can only get it back by emptying my vault and stopping all donations and upgrades. I love my faction and want to be able to support them, but at the rate I'm bleeding power and money, I'll soon be useless to them.
