Knowing that the max. amount of Mafia member is caped, is there any interest to keep on adding more and more? (apart from achieving any specific goals, of course).

Well, as I see it, these are your options-
a) Do nothing.
b) Add more.
Maybe a few need to get whacked every now and then, just to keep the others in line.
And since this is (loosely) related to the topic of mob size, I have to ask why some people post profile comments like "xxx-xxx-xxx join me I have 700+ mafia"? Am I missing something? Because as I understand it, my friends' mob size is irrelevant, right?
I think mob size is irrelevantbut I've been wrong before.
The only reason to keep adding more is that the cap might get changed down the line and when you are higher level you might need more... Other than that no reason to add more mafia. As far as I can tell it doesn't hurt you or help you so might as well.
I was under the impression from other posters that the more you add over 500, the more visible you are to players 20+ levels above you. You know the ones who can really wup your ass.
rustbinlid, that's not the case. and yes, adding more mafia doesn't help. the last mafia goal is 1000 or 500? i can't remember

Once you hit 500 mafia, you have hit the cap as far as how many mafia you can bring to a fight/robbery/hood defense.
You will not be able to use all 500 mafia members until level 100. Level x 5 = Mafia used.
Each mafia member can bring 1 melee weapon, 1 gun, 1 piece of armor, and 1 vehicle to a fight/robbery/hood defense. This is an important guideline for when leveling up. I try to make sure I have all of my mafia members at least have a melee weapon, a gun, and armor before leveling up. Not so much vehicles right now. People often level too fast not keeping this aspect of the game in mind. They pay for it later on, and are often way behind the curve because of it.
So at level 100 a person can use 500 melee weapons, 500 guns, 500 pieces of armor, and 500 vehicles. 2000 total items. Again this is the CURRENT cap.
I am personally shooting for 1000 maifa just in case the crew at Funzio raises the cap above 500.

i believe the cap of lvl is 200, and the cap of usable mafia is 500. I have seen one man with lvl 200 and his name is exactly "1 man"
And, when you visit your mafia members hood for the first time, you get $100... Probably a slow way to add money, but, it's there for the taking...
Also, every day you can go visit each mafia member and get $100 up to 25 members. It is capped at 25 members right now. That is $2500 free money every single day if you can spend the 10 minutes to visit the 25 members.

The last mafia goal is 500. If you go to "Menu" , then go to "More..", there is a icon "GAME CENTER". When you tap it, you will get your achievements. It will show the limits of expansion, mafia members, levels etc.

I've seen this cheater too (income: 1.25 million per hour).
There is also Richie, level 200, 55k jobs done and only a few buildings on his hood.
What I don't understand is why the devs aren't doing anything about that, I've reported 1 man 10 days ago, they said they were "looking into it" but the guy is still playing...
Stick with 500.
