Why is "Free Gems" still broken??

@Sxe: it's not "just" me. This thread is dedicated to the others on my team who have had the same problem for more than two weeks now.


In any event, something seems to have changed:

1st attempt: 4 videos, system sputtered on the 5th
2nd attempt: Clicked 33 times, no video, detached from game

So I got 5 videos/free gems today, more or less painlessly. Still not fixed, but a huge improvement. THANKS, GREE!

I don't even have the button for Free Gems anymore... Tried reinstalling, clearing memory and cache.

Call me noob if you want, but what is VPN?
EDIT: just tried the videos, got 3 or 4 and seems they changed or updated something seeing as how I can't rotate the phone to make the videos full screen, have you tried it yet today, maybe better luck now after it's update?

Yep, definitely happens to more people. Happens to myself and a lot of people in my guild. It's random too. Sometimes it's fine, sometimes its not. The only thing I can think of if its not a bug is they are using a 3rd party to allow an advertiser to decide whether or not to purchase the ad for you based on their demographic profile of you and you are getting "rejected" when it goes to check.

I don't use VPN since it's unclear whether it's approved by GREE; as that's the case, I won't elaborate.

VPN is a tool that makes your internet connection think your not where you are, so you can route a new location to japan, or germany. the only reason i ask this is because i saw somewhere if you dont have any available tree gems it may not pop up, this may be wrong. the other thing is gems may be given in a pool like 100 gems are given to the united states users. so if one person was on it and hit video 100 times, he could possible grab them all before anyone else noticed. id asume gems are given more large scale though, like some stupid game wants to donate 10 dollars for video funding, which will equate to maybe 1000 videos to gree. so that opens the gate for 1000 videos to one location, like america.

As for who uses VPN, i believe anyone who is above top 100 uses it, to supplement their spending.

Yeah I went ahead and googled it last night, seems pretty cool not sure if I can even set my phone to do that honestly, I'm tech savvy enough to just get by, lol and thank you for explaining it

its not hard, you just open the app, you usually get about 3-5 hours free a day, and click what country you want your connection to look like. at least try it out to test your gem buttons.

Can we get a concrete answer from GREE whether or not we can use VPN without getting our accounts banned? If it's approved, then I'm all for it. Anyone asked them about it recently?

If gree didnt allow it they wouldve already banned majority of there player base. Just download it and use it.

People have been using VPN since day one and haven't been banned.

Just like stripping, Gree allows it.

yeah, litterally all top level guilds would be gone. also - they still get money for someone watching a video. why would they ban people for more money falling into their pockets
