--MODERN WAR UNPLAYABLE WITHOUT FORUM--
After two and a half years of playing this game, it had become obvious that without this forum, the game would have died a long time ago. Without reports of the glitches, hacks, and service issues, the players would have simply deleted the game and walked away.
But more...in order for the players to decide whether to plunk down their resources, the content creators of walkthroughs and other data collections have given the players that vital piece of
information on whether to forge forward, or call it a day. Without this information on events, it is very doubtful that players would continue to invest their resources on an uncertain outcome.
To the walkthrough creators: I SALUTE YOU.
Your contributions to the gaming community are incredible, and have kept the lights on for this operation.
What I find more amazing are the missed opportunities that could have been capitalized on by the developers: fore example, the 3rd party software. If this speaks to anything it is that the players absolutely hate not knowing what is going on. Nearly all of the third party software deals with giving players more information to be efficient with their resource spending (Toolkit/docbot/outside chat apps).
The bottom line: we scream for more information, and the profitability of the game goes out the door without it. Most honest transactions require some information about the risk and reward, and without it, a rational person will not throw their resources down a hole (notice I said rational person...no accounting for the insanity of top-10 pissing contests [which are dying out btw...]).
Bottom line: the developers owe the content creators a debt of gratitude for continued playability and the vital information that is so cleverly concealed with checklists, tiered events, and downright deceptive splash screens and completion benchmarks. Without the content creators clearing the smokescreen in this forum, frustration with the design would have killed the game months, if not years ago.
The forum controls the game, and it is about time that this gets recognized. Long live the
power of the forum.
