I did the maths. To finish both ltq from where I can get for free would have cost me 3300 gold for each ltq. So 6600 gold to finish the event for the +1 max building upgrade wrapper unit.

Or

I could spend 3500 gold to buy them from the store.

Considering I'm still spending my last bonus gold payment from 6 months ago, just being choosy where I spend it, I think I'll take the short cut on this one
