This happened to me once or twice before, but I cannot remember why. Is it a game wide function? Or am I just lucky?

Yup, it's caused by maintenance... Too bad tho, now I need to find my favorite robber again before I can 20-0 him
I guess what I'm asking is, when it happens, does it happen across the board to everyone at the same time, only a select few, or a large select group? Am I now gone from everyone else's news feed?
When game is down for maintenance it is wiped clean, across the board
News feed always seems to wipe every once in a while. Happy hunting!

I think Gree is wiping players news whenever they get attacked by Tam and/or Heather to make sure no one bothers them

It's a pain in the bum, especially when I want to dole out retribution.
It appears to have been rather selective. Some players still have their messages
Perhaps it depends in which server they have us on.

During maintenance, gree cleans up their computers to allow the game to run faster or update servers, ie.......cookies,temp internet files, ect... All get delete, hense the wiped rival list,
