For these last 7-8 days, my game hasn't even been starting. I get notifications that my buildings have been robbed and my syndicate is at war but everytime I start the game, it stays on the loading screen and then automatically crashes.

Have you tried deleting completely and downloading a fresh copy from whatever store you use? Yours might be corrupt so reinstalling from existing back-up may not help.
