can you join another faction if you can leave a faction during this event? Unlike World Domination, you can't leave a faction while its in progress but for this event you can. so can you join another faction?

Read the rules. This has been addressed already. No you cannot change factions after the event has started.
but how did I manage to leave then? wouldn't it not allow me to leave? can i join back to my old faction?

You can leave a faction. You can also join one IF you weren't in one at the start of the event. Unfortunately, you cannot join another faction after leaving the one you were in when the event started. And, no, you cannot rejoin the faction you left.Originally Posted by Spazer

I tried to.toss someone out. Said i could NOT and I had to wait until event end.
Maybe leaving by your choice is different. I haven't tried.
