So the prizes are horrible this time around but I also HEARD that lvl 10 is gonna be CRAZY expensive to upgrade.

$6.2B through lvl 7. Not verified, but lvl 10 is about $14.1B. Total costs of upgrades around $31 Bil. That's more than 1900 growlers for 53mil in raw att stats.
