I have wondered myself. I make a very good living. I am a cancer researcher. Life can be good. Back in November, I went on a 200k+ streak. That was a bit too much. I cannot imagine gemming enough for 500k+ per war. I have a 6 figure income, and that would drain my wallet.

I sign up for AdSense and post crappy videos earning about $1,300 - $3,500 a month(BTW this is for YouTube. Videos to get the money!).

I'm a chef, but certainly not a millionaire. I dropped $500 around month six. Now I just spend 5-25$ occasionally. For wars or epic bosses. Chests are usually free gems. Only have really good luck if you buy 40 in my case.

I'm by no means an amazing player, mainly because I don't spend money on gems either, but I make do without them or wasting my time with the free offers. Just make good use of the timers, and you can still end up being a relatively solid player.
