Cj, please answer this question. As i know from my experience and many others, we feel cheated.

Odds are unknown clearly... but these are just numbers and are what you would expect each options chances...
    Odds for a free open:
    75% Empty/10% Gold/10% Honor/5% Item
    Odds for a gold open:
    50% Empty/20% Gold/20% Honor/10% Item
    Odds for a Gem open(100%):
    40% Gold/ 40% Honor/20% Item

The above is what you would think the odds look like when opening boxes... but from my experience(in this game and many of your others) as well as many others... the below what we observe.

    Odds of a free open:
    75% Empty/10% Gold/10% Honor/5% Item
    Odds for a gold open:
    35% Empty/20% Gold/15% Honor/25% Item
    Odds for a Gem open(100%):
    45% Gold/ 45% Honor/10% Item

There has been many many times where i complete the events using gold opens only... within, for example, 40 boxes. Lucky me... But there are many times where i open 40 boxes with gold to complete 9/10 Items. After that i use Gem opens and the odds of an item appearing seem to be cut in half!

Why is it so hard for you guys just to list the chances during the event? If there is only a 1% chance to get an item using Gem opens, at least warn me! So much bad rap you guys get could be avoided so often its embarrasing... The lottery lists your chances on every ticket you buy... but with you guys you keep it a secret... Clearly that is gambling even more so than playing the lottery.

And in collect-10 or collect 20/25 events (but not leaderboards), getting one of the special items decreases the chance of getting the next one. But it does not vary from account to account or take any other factors into consideration; everyone has the same percentage chances as everyone else who is at the same step of the event.

EDIT: Nor does it have to do with level or anything else like that. It's just a flat percentage based on how many of the tokens you already have.
And this is the reason why NO ONE should play the box events! It is gambling, and the odds are on the house to take all your gems, and the better you do the more they will start to take from you... To even have a system that makes it get harder when you get close is criminal at best, even Casinos don't (and are not legally allowed too, odds must always stay the same and be posted) do that....

It makes no sense that I am spending over $100 Canadian dollars and someone else is spending 0$ or getting 10 straight. I used to love this game however I find it more and more difficult to like this game. It's a game. Not gambling or the casino. If someone spends $100 they should get the item. Nuff said. It's bad enough you guys have the war event on thanksgiving and Christmas.

It's all about getting us to buy gems with the Illusion of Winning, very sad state of affairs , i would have just assumed those using Gems would have gotten the unit/coins way before "Free" players did, ireespective of chance considering we use a Gaurentee open, but its not a Gaurentee Coin i know,
    it just comes across as "G"etting "R"idicolous "E"very "E"vent.
this event along with others will be long remembered and players wont spend !

You are contradicting yourself. First you admit that the percents of said item earned decrease. Then you say it's a flat percentage rate. Then you say results on a small sample size but the chances don't change during an event.

I have done my research an I am calling you a flat out. BS.....I have a large sample size...taken from many guilds and friends combined.....I don't care what you say. The percents change during the course of the event. My numbers back that up.

I have nothing more to say..........

EDIT: Oh yeah.....and I tweaked your two posts a little. Hope you don't mind!

Odds are odds. It is not a guaranty. Just because there's a 10% chance you'll get something doesn't mean it will come up 1 out of 10 times. You could bet on the same number 1000 times on the roulette wheel and still not hit your number even though the odds are 1/38, or ~2.6%.

Unlike other events, box events are gambling events. Some win, some don't.

only way to spend on this event would be to set a budget or a limit and keep to it.

I might spend a few hundred gems, but only if i get to 9 with more than 1 day to go for free.

    Got it !

Got the 10/10 coin this morning, I have spent 1 mountain from 6/10 to 9/10 then got mad and went for gold hits and got lucky. It seems now that the forgotten sentinel has a 20% machine attack boost behind it, now that spices things up and for me personally 1 mountain was worth this effort.

So you spent a Mountain and did not get the unit...but you resorted to gold and got the unit ?? Then why spend the gems ? It seems a waste to me! Why not just keep your gems for so etching worth while ! Raid Boss event or war??
3 days of gems for nothing mmmmm....no logic in that!
But congrats on getting the unit
