    Phillipines Relief/1 Gold Purchase

Please consider rerouting your next purchase of gold to the Redcross.org or UNICEF/Phillipines. Just as easy as dropping money on vault. Imagine the impact of every player on MW/KA/CC donating $$$ to the relief efforts in the wake of this horrendous storm. Just a thought...thanks for listening

not sure if there are other options out their but i usually refrain from donating money to these and many other charities. Most of the money goes to there higher employees which leaves less than 15 % of the money that actually goes to helping people in need. Best thing to do is research and find out how much of your money actually goes to charity. There are good ones out there you just have to do a bit of research.

Both the American Red Cross and UNICEF use a little over 90% of their donations for actual programs and relief aid. There are many unscrupulous charities, but these two are definitely two of the better one.

Very much agree with KFH. All charities organisations eat right about 80% and give around 15 to 20% to victims.

How many of these countries that we here in the USA donate to actually send aid when we have a disaster? I'm going to wager none. Therefore we should not donate to them.

@Skoalrulz: a bit offensive that you would make that statement without actually checking. Many countries have sent or offered to send aid to the US to help with major natural disasters (Hurricane Katrina is the most prominent that I can remember). This includes a lot of "have not" countries.

Donate or don't donate, that's obviously your choice - but don't use false information to justify your lack of generosity towards people who are in dire circumstances.

This simply isn't true. There can be a huge difference from one charity to the next as to what % of donations make it to the cause the charity is supporting. I've seen as high as 95% of donations go to help the cause or as low as 1%.

Just because you don't hear about it doesn't mean it doesn't happen. I know the UAE and France both donated to help rebuild after Sandy and the tornado in Joplin. As far the Phillipines, it's not exactly full of rich people, so the donations coming to the U.S. from there are probably slim to none.

Oh, and here's a list of countries that donated to help after Katrina:
