I think this was my undertone but you spelt it out.
I think the term was capitulants at the time handing enough military hardware to Germany that they could then use against the Russians. Their nazi puppet who ruled France during thr war was later accused as traiter to the people. The French navy had a chance to sail to britton and hand their warships to the allied forces. Unfortunately, they didnt and the British and allies needed to sink them by force. This was one if the greatest disasters and regrets of the war. Thankfully many common people in France rebelled against the occupying force. These Heros of the French underground would be called "terrorists" by today's definition. Nothing political here.
