I've heard about people spending thousands? Is that real? I'm on here quite a bit, level 129 actually, but definitely not going to spend much money on this game

$100 a month roughly keeps me top 75 synd. My problem is that I've started 2 other accounts I want to be stronger than my main one which has almost blown it's level youth. So this could be $300 per month

i bought gold whenever i needed a building that can only be purchased with gold.
i have adult movie theater, wedding chapel, ice cream shops and gaming parlor - yeah i skipped the expensive ones,
and yet i have spent dozens of dollars which is clearly an addiction

At the top levels of the game, you will spend up to a vault of gold in a single battle where you have a points cow. Other battles in a weekend you may have no target so gotta do it.

I did surveys and downloads a few times, got well over 50 gold. But I stopped because it took about an hour. To stay in a top 3 syndicate, how much would it cost those users? Do you have any rough estimate?
