Anyway, I was thinking to have a confirmation pop up appear for any gold spent but that would greatly slow down those clicking gold open and reset for this leader board event.

By the way, in the last box event I accidentally reset the timer with less than 15 seconds left and I already had the explosive and Inalready had the car. I sent a ticket to gree and they said they couldn't refund me! If I had a gold bank that wouldn't have happened.

I did the same thing in the same situation, but assumed that the gold was lost.
