Should a Warning Be Put on Gree Game ?

There are clearly some people on here that are lucky enough to have the disposable income but what about the others that get sucked into the moment and say to themselves "just one more vault" those vaults add up over time and before you know it you've spent hundreds on a game and have a fairly unhealthy addiction.

    Thoughts?
Discuss i found this topic on MW fourm and thought i repost on here to see what people thought.

I considered myself a free player but during Christmas i was forced to buy a vault of gold to get my frosted snowman . I had no intention on ever purchase gold but after peer pressure on other players about how great previous limited gold building (Haunted mansion and turkey house) were worth it, i caved and bought it.

I say we take all the warning labels off everything and let nature take its course. Seriously, though... This is an idea so stupid only a tort lawyer could like it.

I'll be back when the moderation is reasonable. Enjoy the forum you created, Gree.

Please you chose to spend or not! Apple and Google stores reported combined sales of $7 Billion USD from their App stores in 2012. Games are a majority (at least 50%) of spend. Warning labels? What and kill the golden goose for Apple and Google....NOT!

When folks/freeloaders on this forum complain/criticize others for spending money on games they have got to realize how many billions are spent on games of pixels on a screen. Without them no games!

No one forced you to buy hardware to play CC...no one forced you to spend your hard earned money...and no one is going to force you to stop playing...unless you are under 18 of course.

Sounds like we'll have warning labels on food "Eat too much and you get Fat and Die" the list can go on. Enough! If you think game is bad for you morally then don't play!

The problem here is addiction, nothing more, nothing less. If you aren't addicted, you can easily control your spending. You don't need a warning label for something like that, just common sense.

The word addiction means a warning will be useless anyway , the warning may as well say ,WARNING you are going to spend all your money please enter your card details below.

I agree that it is addicting. I can admit I was. The best thing to happen to me was getting screwed by gree. Now I rarely buy gold!

By the way, as for a warning, there is a warning on cigarettes and people still try it and get hooked.

    "...forced..."?
I've never spent a dime on Crime City, but I've always been tacitly grateful to the big spenders who do. They subsidized my entertainment. I feel the same way about the chumps who buy every piece of crap they see advertised in television commercials, like Axe body spray. I laugh and offer a silent "Thanks!" every time I fast-forward past another one of those thirty-second slices of nonsense.

I definitely spent way more than I ever intended on this silly game. There weren't even good social elements until recently. Its a little more compelling now that its more social.

I think the only warning that needs to be put on this game, or anything else for that matter is...

"Warning, someone who's parents didn't teach them how to be accountable for their actions, or has absolutely no common sense and/or analytical skills wants to put a warning on this product!"

I don't troll but I know this will sound like one. Bala the warning should be pasted on you. You used to say some crazy stuff and offer advice base on no knowledge or experience but just an idea. Then you started making valuable contributions, and I had even thought "wow! that's really good advise". But to say your peers had pressurised you in to spending money! That's what I would expect from a twelve year old. "I threw a stone at the train cause my mates did it" In truth you wanted to spend the money, then like the others you regretted spending the money and realised it made no difference to your game. Grow up, stop moaning and complaining and just enjoy the game.

You are entitled to your opinion coldjoey . Your example is for children, i am take you example apply to the real world of adults. Let say you get a share tip to invest in some share of a business but you decided not to and than you see people who took advantage of the share tip received some benefit so kick yourself and than couple month latter you get another tip but again you are not sure so you don't do anything and again player benefit and so another month pass and another share tip comes but this time you invest. This is adult peer pressure not kid's peer pressure. If you can't tell the difference than what can i say.

I missed opportunity with haunted mansion than i saw players on this forum brag about how it was a good investment and i felt bad and when turkey house came i just didn't think it was good investment and than player who bought said it was. When frosted snowman came you damn right i wasn't going let that opportunity pass.

Yet you whinge about it like a girl.

I think I understand your point - Gambling and addiction is a recognised issue in our society and it is an issue that exists online as well in games such as Crime City. Unfortunately just casinos, GREE can/will only do so much to protect those vulnerable. Ultimately, they are here to make a profit and will self regulate to the extent that it doesn't damage their business.

A warning label may be a good idea but who will enforce it? Enforcement of online gaming companies are I think only in its infancy and while a good point you raise, this is not the avenue for it. Go whinge about it to your local authority.

For those who are vulnerable to peer pressure or suffer from gambling problems, go seek professional help.

Otherwise, stop whinging about it here because we all want to get away from real life and you whinging about it just annoys everyone.

Go have a cry while I rob your hood.
