It could cost you less than half of that if you buy -20% itunes cards, and then -40% vaults with those cards esp with the Bonus program (and to a smaller extend TapJoy).
Also, vaults are cheaper in US$ and I feel like many of those heavy gold spenders are American.

It is sad that the players themselves had to do greed's job. Sad but not surprising.
It was a mad scramble at the end trying to figure out who was in what place. So darn close.
It sucked in the end for us...we missed 25th by very few points. 26th is far worse than 42

It also fails to take into consideration the funding required to build those crazy military forces.
I think each member in a 50 member faction need an average of 8 vaults per person for top 10.

I know everyone is doing alot of Calculus, trying to figure out this whole gold buying Vs Ranking Deal . But, Some are forgetting, is that at this Level, the Boosts really Help. Most of Us have a High Health Regen Rate. This allows for at least another 4 free shots per Member per Battle. That really starts to Add up in a Hurry. When You have 58 Members. Congrats to all the Factions that Fought so Hard and with Valor. to get to where They are.
