I would hope this is GREE leading up to releasing a new honor based unit, but that could be giving them too much credit.
Well it does confirm one thing for positive though; There is no way GREE are taking one bit of notice of the forums of KA players.
At a point in time when top guilds are making threats (albeit rhetoric so far) to stop spending gems etc....Gree have hardly done the sensible thing of "I know, we'll put the Top 3 prizes so enticing that it will make them continue to put up with us".

Surely this is a precursor to the release of some new kick@$$ honor units that they'll release right before the battle starts so people try to win in order to increase their honor more quickly.
Something like a super dragon with 2500/2500 stats at a cost of 50,000 honor or something.
