I already have a bunch of lvl 2 training fields and a dungeon under construction. My current expansions are full and the next one is 500k, which would take days of saving up for. I have a hard time now with epic faerie forest, which is my furthest area. Not sure how far to upgrade my armors since none of them are the big 4. I do have 2 non + versions of the big for, one of which I've unlocked the + version of but can't craft until I unlock more areas.

No worries, just need times, upgrade your armor, hire your friend to help you pass the Epic stage, you will go further

What is the best way to level up armor?

Use common and uncommon armor as material to upgrade your great armor at its low level, then use snakeskin or above to keep upgrading to the max.

Yep, he is correct. every 30 mins for a epic energy (5 hours will fully recharge itself), every 15 mins for an arena energy (75mins or 1.5 hour will recharge itself).

So if you have 10 energy, use 8 on a boss fight. Then the most you can get after that before the boss
goes away is 5?

Yes, I'm not sure the boss drop energy randomly or fixed, but the maximum energy drop is 5. No matter how many you currently own before, even you own 50+.

So if you have 10 energy, use 8 on a boss fight. Then the most you can get after that before the boss
goes away is 5?

I got two 5 energy drops prior to level 15.
They do happen. I think it's just random.
