Nope, boss event, number 4 in the Battle For Dragon's Roost list.

Both events started.

I did not get the popup. I was just amazed that the boss started after finishing level 2 of the new LTQ.
Triggered it twice now; I have a hard time triggering it again.

No pop up for it, but did get it to trigger once. Be wary of this, as it's not triggering regularly (at least not yet). And there's no goal for it - so the game isn't counting how many wins you're getting. Wonder if it's a mistake deploying it too early

I think the boss event launch was a mistake, I got 5 of them right away, but always level 1. Now it won't pop, so I am guessing it launched by mistake and Gree fixed that

Hey everyone - we accidentally had our epic boss turned on briefly for testing. It would have been live for ~15 mins, but is off now. We're planning on releasing it soon, but just not yet. Just wanted to give you a heads-up, and apologize for any confusion. "

Hopefully in that 15 min window, some players managed to get all the rares and uncommon units for the presumed LTQ that will be linked to the Epic Boss event
