Last event like this for me. Used a pile of gold and stuck at 8. GREE has alienated me now from all their "special events".
Just have made it to costly. This may even be my las t faction war.

Let me tell you the odds for the last 3 shells.
8th is 17%, 9th is 7%, 10th is 2%.
So for the 10th shell, in average, you need 50 attempts to get the shell, less if you are lucky.
Yeah, im pissed, its a scam. Ill never do those events again. I got to 9 with 3 days left and then never got another ammo cartridge after that. Buch of B.S.
I will NEVER EVER EVER do these SCAM money-grubbing events by GREEd in MW ever again.
Opened more than 60 crates and still no 9th shell.
Got 9 open with cash only with days left to spare.
After a couple days of no opens on #10, did what Gree wants (bought 1500 gold at full price), and proceeded to time reset and crowbar open. After spending ~1200 gold it finally got the #10 shell & prize.
Is a 10% Infantry attack boost worth about $80 of real money?

Event finished and I'm still stuck on 8 my only thought is maybe have two sets of units for ones who use gold and then for free players...
I have tried almost 12-13 opens a day... Got to 8 within the first 12 hours (yes I used the 50 free gold from gree) and then the next 4.5 days of sorry please try again and a slap in the face with concrete...
I dunno guys, I've been doing these mini games since they started, and as a free player only using the cash option I have actually won at least three in MW and one in KA.
Im no statistician, but it seems to me that these crate events all follow a predictable pattern, but the open crate plus prize percentages are set with varying levels of difficulty.
Day's one and two are when you get the most items, between say 5 and 8. Days 3 and 4 are usually mostly fails and the last day or two will have slightly more prizes just to keep the desperado's interested.
If you look at it like I do, then cash bought invincible units are always cheap, and if you get lucky and get 9 or even 10 event mini prizes well then that's even better.
