New Boss Event: Gorglesh the Giant, and LTQ

I got off to a bad start on this one, just 2/9 at kill 12...but like Geiteke, I got Gorglesh on kill #23. This makes me 3 for 4 on the 9/9 events. I got the Keeper of the Herd on kill #29 and the worm on kill #30. Only got 8/9 on Gokstand. I usually stop at kill #30 on these events...keep thinking I should of went to 31. Oh well.

Age has a similar effect...

Is it just me or does it seem like in every boss event, the first few bosses take a lot of killing or attacking to trigger but then after a few bosses pass literally anything you do will trigger a boss battle?

Not just you; I've ran into that too.

See...now I think Gree's just playing with me. Used gems, killed boss 25, got my last uncommon. Now two more rare to go.

I'm debating what I should do at this point. Level 97, so don't think I will be able to do the next boss event unless I'm part of a guild that has the health regen bonus already or coming up on it.

But I have minimum gems right now, though can beat boss 26 and 27 with them. So...should I go for the LTQ? May be my last chance for a LONG time.......

EDIT: Well, going for the gold. Next boss down and got a needed rare! One left. So here's to good luck continuing....

Is there a trick to these boss events? I swear I cannot get past Boss 9 without using gems. This has been regardless of my level or my Att/Def (currently lvl 100 with 59k attack.)
I refuse to use gems for these though, especially when the unit drops are completely random (would rather spend on something a bit more guaranteed)....

No trick. But your attack needs to triple to get far at all. There are several threads in here that talk about boss events, and if you look at stats on people and how far they got, you'll have some idea of where you should be (or should have been) to get much further.

right now I'm level 97 with hitting the boss 210k or so per hit and had to use gems on boss 25.

I assume alot of this has to do with number of allies (I only have 136). I thought I was doing well, considering my top 45 units are all over 200att.
Guess when I get back online, I will start acquiring more allies.

Absolutely has to do with that. In fact, you're only bringing 408 units to battle, when you could be bringing 1500.

8 out of 9, catapult is still missing, at boss 26.
I hope I will be lucky in the next rounds left to me ....

The boss 30 unit is Gorglesh's Follower. Stats: A741/D594. I'm calling it quits now I think...
