Unfortunately, the only way to search for a faction is by entering the 9 digit faction code. You can rejoin if you can track the faction down. Do you remember if any of the members were part of the forums? Also, do you have any members added as allies?

Yeah, you're gonna have to find the faction ID, or by some rare chance, find it on the faction list. Good luck.

Factions really need to be searchable by name. Searching by number is extremely impractical, and now that faction names are unique, this shouldn't be a problem.

Im going to semi-hijack your thread to add that not only do they need to make factions searchable by name, but we need a much better way to organize allies lists. Or give us a search function or something. So many times, im asked to visit an ally only to find myself scrolling through pages and pages of names. Come on theres gotta be a way to make this easier?
