Heh nice. My camper used 150~ gold and the rest cash: 6/10. My main only cash opens 9/10. I hope I will get in time with both chars 10

just got 10th piece! its a nice flamethrower.

used gold cause i wanted to get to 10/10 as quickly as possible. used around 1800 gold total (opens and resets)

got to 9/10 within first 16 cases opened on 1st day. then spent next day doing just 1 open/hour. spent last 36 hours doing 3-4 opens per hour. prolly opened 40-50 cases before getting 10th piece and grand prize.

Lucky day? Got 9 first thing when I woke up after being stuck at 8 since day 1 (and down about 1400 gold to get there). And I just got this surprise a few minutes ago.



I wish I hadn't spent all that * gold, but if I hadn't done so many resets on day one the event would have ended before I finally got to attempt whatever-that-one-was. So no regrets. I guess! Haha.

51% cheaper upgrades that happen 39.25% faster. Can't really complain.

I have done all events, first one ever won without gold (last was Striker Minigun), so I guess that's a 51% discount on upgrades

Got the 10th! Had to spend some tapjoy gold (60-75) to get the last one...got lucky in getting 9 out of my first 14-15 opens

So got this item on both of my accounts all cash opens no gold, I think all these people with theories on 1st day opens being different odds is all a bunch of bunk. This is now 5 of these case events in a row I have got the final prize on 2 accounts no gold spend. Save your money do cash opens until the last day, then use gold if it is really an item you want.

I think Gree possibly changed the code since the early days of this style event when the 10 item was near impossible for free or maybe odds are better for lower levels. Please note I am very diligent about opening every hour likely 18 hours a day. Especially since this was the best item yet IMO.

Another thing no reason to stop opening cases after 10 I have been getting nice usable items at least for my level.

These case style events are turning out to be the best events going. You can get the items for hardly any XP gain just rob laundromats for cases and be diligent on your opens, pretty much a gimme.

Ugh...been stuck on 8 for the past 2 days. Got to 8 using only cash opens and then tried using some gold to get to 9, but kept getting the stupid carnival sledgehammers. Went back to cash opens and still stuck on 8. If I can get to 9 using cash, I'll go back to gold opens for the 10th. I was able to get the last 2 collect 10 event items using cash opens only, but I REALLY want this item and hope I can get it using gold.

Even though, I'm completely hooked after playing for just two months, I'm looking for an excuse to uninstall, and reclaim my life. If I can't get there on cash opens, playing 19 hours/day, I'm done.

EDIT: L19 account got it shortly after posting this, and L50 account got it the following morning. Not sure whether I feel joy over getting the modifier, or sadness about feeding this addiction.

Well, I managed to get 3 rolls of films each day ever since the event started (only used cash unlocks) and now I'm stuck on the 9th (didn't have any luck at all on the 4th day). Used about 160 gold to open/reset, but with no luck.

Hope I can get the last one before time runs out.

Congrats! I do think your success is because of your low levels. Get over 100 and it's another story.

I heard that the event item drop rate is 2% on the 9th one if you're level 100 or over...well, good game right there.

The reason for the first day gold spending is the odds of getting an item slightly decrease as you get more items. If you do not close the event screen, then it does not re-sync and doesn't update the odds, except for the 10th item, which is set at 2%. So, if you acquire enough boxes,crates,etc, and then open the event and use resets/gold opens to open boxes it keeps your box #1 odds and you can get to 9 items with limited use of gold. Maybe open 15 boxes total, or 450 gold. That's $24 if purchased during gold sale to get to 9 items.

Now if you are level 100, you have 2% chance of getting the 10th item. So, over the next 4-5 days, if you attempt to open 18 cases a day for 5 days, that's 90 cases. There's a 50% chance they open, so you open 45 cases. That gives you a (1 - .98^45) 60% chance of getting the item.

So if you do this over 10 events, you should 6 items and would have spent 4,500 gold or 750 gold/item. Pretty cheap for these items+modifiers. That's of course if you are a gold spender. If you are not a gold spender, then ignore this.

It's crazy that people spend 1.5k gold and they still only have a moderate chance of getting the final item.

Another question of thought though: if you're a high level player (like 100+), do you need to get gold if you want to do well or something?
