Question [Android] GREE, please explain the new app privilege in MW2.0.4!

In the latest MW Android update (2.0.4) there was a new app privilege added:
    Retrieve running apps.

GREE, please clarify exactly and fully how and for what you're going to use that data!

    As for us players:
This isn't a very serious privacy intrusion.
I would guess it's for performance analysis and/or other technical purposes.
But could as well be for spying on competitors, like the new Hobbit game, and generally looking up what apps are popular to use, or worse like profiling individuals by apps. And don't think it's ONLY when you're actually in MW, it always runs in the background unless you force-close.
Personally, I don't have any special/sensitive apps running...
But in any case, I'd prefer to keep that private, GREE!

Here's a link to MW in the Google Play store's website, click the "Permissions" tab.

I don't think that is what it means. I'm assuming that it may be(and I am only speculating here) a way to go back to your game without the game restarting if someone texts or calls you. Or if you just exit the game without closing it out you can return to the game. Hence, you can retrieve the running app if you didn't close out the game. Just an opinion.

    No.
It is what the privilege name says: the access to see all running apps on the phone!

Retrieve: 1. To get something back; regain possession of 2. To rescue or save 3. to bring back......no where in that definition does it say to look or spy.

    You're on iOS, right?
Is it true iOS users can't see what permissions an app has?

It seems like a excuse for them to check for hacking apps. I rather them not look into my running apps as I have a lot of private information going on.

To clarify, this permission only gives a list of apps running, basically only their names maybe also some basic info like memory used.
So no data from the actual apps is accessed.

In case you're being sarcastic, very foolish.
If we let corporations not care about consumer protection in small matters, do you think they will care in the big matters? This is already happening all over btw... but especially with Android/iOS smartphone apps.
