Ya, just got it too. You need to find snitch notes as well as bullets and you need both to open, otherwise it's the same as every other event. Good luck!
Found a butt load of snitch notes, but only 1 bullet. "Sorry better luck next time." And what really sucks is that you lose the bullet whether or not you're successful.

This event looks lame the prizes are not very useful

Unless we were both, luckily, attacking players who had already received bullets/snitch notes from PvE. But I doubt that's the case . I didn't pay attention to whether I lost a snitch note from a failed attack though.
