Alex is a common name but it is also the default starting name. Some players may have accidentally skipped the naming process and were given the default name of Alex. Others may have had their account reset or wiped and had their name set to the default Alex. Some people change their name to Alex to hide from attacks/robs.

I talked to a guy at work, and introduced him to CC. He was into the game and I told him don't do some offensive name or he'd get attacked....LOL forgot his real name is 'Alex'. I told him he better contact support to change it, and they did.
