    Incorrect Pricing of Gems

    Gems are available in the store. In the UK they are:
    £2.99 for 50;
    £6.99 for 110 (with 10% bonus);
    £13.99 for 240 (with 20% bonus); etc

    But, if 50 are £2.99, then 2*50 plus 10% should be £5.98 for 110, similarly 200 as 4*50 would be £11.96, 20% extra being 240 for £11.96 not £13.99. These mistakes continue for all prices.

    Now I don't mind the rounding to the nearest 0.99, but the rest of the pricing is misleading. In the UK, you are not allowed to show something as 10% extra when it's clearly not.

    But Funzio have chosen to ignore my support message about this. They said they'd pass it to developers for their consideration, but the pricing is still all wrong. It's the same on Crime City.

    I'm just a bit shocked that Funzio don't seem to think it matters. This is something they should be correcting immediately, it's fundamental. It's not like I'm moaning about a nerfed weapon!

    Your math is correct and I don't understand why they wouldn't fix it. There are other options open to you for reporting this, if they choose to continue to ignore you. I'm surprised that nobody else has caught this! I will have to check out MW and see if it's the same, for sure.

    Maybe if lots of people asked for refunds...

    A mountain of gems, 1500 for £69.99 (50% extra). So you should be paying for 1000, that's 20*50 gems, so 20*2.99 (rounded to nearest 0.99) is only £59.99. If I'd bought a mountain of gems for £69.99 I'd be asking for £10 back. And would they be able to refuse?

    It is $99.99 US dollars - in Canada it is $104.00 but we have an odd tax that is added to the price.

    No matter the 'small' correction they have to do (you're correct), the price is still way too high for what you get (imho). In the beginning i didn't understand the price/business model for IoS apps at all, but now i get it... they all ask ridiculous prices for 'extra' content or buyable content so you don't notice this unless you know other platforms.

    Seems the world is gone crazy. If you ask those prices for PC games, Playstation etc, then you're out of business within the year.

    Probably i'm just a bit crazy by thinking i'll never will invest money in a game with such price model. Blame on me... i don't understand this world anymore.

    Money rates for gems -- pricing

    In the US, the money for the gems (although, yes, VERY high) does work out properly.

    It may have been a major error in their finance department that would account for the money translation.

    In US dollars:

    5 = 50 gems
    10 = 110 gems (+10%)
    20 = 240 gems (+20%
    50 = 650 gems (+30%)
    100 = 1500 gems (+50%)

    ...with the +% based on the original $5 = 50 gems

    At least for the US market, the values add up.
    Since April 2012

    And for laughs...
