Armies

I don't get the armies thing. Whenever I attack someone, it always shows me fighting with the same old guys (mages I think) and this never changes no matter what new units I buy. What I don't understand is that they are not my strongest units. Then, when they die off, they don't seem to be replaced by anything.

Am I missing something here?

I have found that it does sometimes change with your units. Currently, my pvp battles are being fought with what appears to be dragons, battering rams and mages, but when I started it was mostly knights. Who knows, but I don't think that it is meant to be totally representative.
