I know what you mean. For, me I levelled up way too quickly when I started and my income was very low comapred to those around me. Since getting the dice in the last event I am camping and just building and upgrading, that is it. Gets very repetitive indeed!

Start crawling instead of outright camping. That is, only rob buildings that have high RP/XP payouts. That at least allows you to use stamina while not leveling quickly. Focus on your economy while doing that and the game shouldn't be as dull.
