Oil Rig protection?

Hey just wondering, as I'm saving up to buy an Oil Rig, Do the defensive buildings even protect it out in the water? And if so, which building do you need?

Bring your oil rig close enough to shore so a SAM and a mine field will cover it.

I have 3 mine fields that overlap my 2 oil rigs and 2 SAMs.

If they ever release a water defense building I'll add those too

I have one sam, out as far as I can put it, and my shipyard in as far as possible, But it doesn't look like my sam will cover the Oil Rig location do you think I should buy a mine field and try that?

You can only have 5 of each cash defense buildings, don't know about gold defense buildings ...

You may have to do another shore expansion to move your Shipyard down so yor oil rig can literally touch the shore.

Sometimes you can clear land in front of your shipyard or dry docks and bring them more than halfway onto land.

I thought the rig had to be on land and water, so I did initially buy a piece of land/water. But when I tried placing the rig there it wouldn't allow it So I know have a piece of strictly all water that I'm going to try it on. But now just worried about defensive coverage.

TC - Look at my base - my 2 oil rigs actually hover over land. Maybe you just need to make an adjustment on their placement by moving your Shipyard or Dry Docks either farther down shore or further on land.

Yeah it might cost you a Land Expansion - but if it protects $105k every day from attack, it will pay for itself soon!

Next expansion over 8m - gonna use it for a money building. So far, oil rigs never been hit (famous last words!)

I have another piece of land/water that I had bought for it, But It wouldn't let me place the rig on it So I figured it had to be in strictly water?
