Annoying bad luck with lockboxes

Has anyone had as bad luck as I have the past few lockboxes as me?

I've been spending 7900 for the past 6 lockboxes and have gotten "BETTER LUCK NEXT TIME".

Starting to get annoyed. The first 2 I opened was 300 respect and a diamond. but my god, any tips?

I've been quite pissed. Stuck at 9 diamonds for a while now. The last 40, yes 40 lockboxes have had crap like jackets, stone hammers, and money in them. Gonna have to drop more $ on gold.

Changing up the strategy here, gonna let my energy get entirely full, farm a bit, then open a box w/gold, wait an hour, farm a bit again & repeat. I have to open a box the instant I get it or risk losing it.

Oh, I also saw an absolutely terrifying camper account a bit ago. The player was Level 34 with an attack of 23,970 and def. of 31,815

Does gold guarantee a diamond or just that it will open and possibly waste 10g on crap.
