How do you choose which troops and how many troops to attack with?
You don't technically, the game does in combat so your choices become important when buying units. The game does start with your most powerful, but if all you go into battle with are high value units your losses will be pretty brutal so many folks also buy cheap units to use as shields but these may have a negative effect depending on how many units you can take into battle.
