Point of Spending Money on Gold Buildings

I haven't decided if I want to buy gold yet, but when I think about it I wonder why anyone would want to spend real money on gold buildings. Spending on weapons makes sense because you can outfit your mafia with weapons that even the best nongold players will never be able to earn. Gold buildings just don't seem worth it though, because with a little patience, good nongold players can earn bucketloads of money just like gold building buyers.

Is it just a patience thing or am I missing something?

Anything you buy with gold is better than the non gold items. The payout is usually better from the start with gold buildings. I am on the fence a little also. I got 40 gold i have been holding for some time.

yeah all about patience in this,

i got me 2 churches coz of the bout 100k in lvl1 all 12 hours which is good boost on economy if ur highbuildings aint that high yet or upgrade costs u bout 1m u maybe just dont have atm.

a single gold gattling wont solve it if u weak, so better get alot money out of a building which collection u can time do go sure u collect it always. buy the expensives then to slowly change out my mafia equipment and save the 10% by doing this.
wedding chappel seems to be good bait if u strong and attack only from newslist, i cant collect it every 3 hours so for me the builldings were worth the gold, it really helping me out increasing stats since i got em.

even think about the 1-2 bars u may need to get ur upgrades to perfect timing with other incomes, like brownstone, crematorium or similar to when they rdy to collect. never would spend like 500 bars for 1 upgrade to be rdy but some less bars i use for this, i hate to login 10x a day just coz to collect from few buildings.

i like the game so i decided to get me on track with gold purchases, as long they dont hurt me in real life i go on with that.
my insurances cost me alot every month and they dont benefit me at all but gold ingame give some nice advantage for less $$ not beeing golden calf or respect coin victim for others

I think Gold buildings are a better value in the long run. You can use the money you earn from them to buy lots of weapons.

I bought gold buildings because I wanted some variety in my hood. Some of the gold buildings are animated as well I believe. They also build and upgrade pretty quickly. When I buy a gold building at least it does something, as in giving me something to upgrade and collect money from. I feel like when you buy a piece of equipment your paying for a tiny little picture, some of those pictures costing something like $75. That's pure insanity. Not to mention I feel like buying gold weapons is akin to bribing Funzio to increase your stats because you don't have the skill to do it on your own.

To each their own though, if buying weapons makes the game more enjoyable for you then go for it.

Also depends on how much money we're talking about. With an unlimited amount, gold equipment becomes superior because it will be outright impossible for anyone else other than another player with unlimited funds to compete with you. With smaller amounts of cash and/or earlier decisions, the buildings become a better value due to high-end cash equipment competing with mediocre gold equipment and the decrease in incremental value due to increased mafia size. Since we're not buying the high end gold equipment anyway, getting to the best cash stuff faster is a better value.

It's true that with enough time that even a single piece of gold equipment will be better than cash of any kind, but the scale we're talking about is at least months.

Well I like it when players spend money on high level gold buildings that I can rob. I am over level 125 and rivals are 90-200. There is noting nicer than a sea of gold over your rivals high level gold buildings.

However I dislike it when my own buildings have that sea of gold and I don't get to it in time. My stats are high for the level so this is happening much less.

The Empire Theater, The Cowboy Casino, and the Rock Cafe are all listed with an 'animated' label on them when you go to the Crime City iphone wiki. When I saw that, I thought I had remembered seeing a Cowboy Casino with moving lights on it somewhere.

Anybody who knows for sure want to clarify?

Thanks for everyone's feedback! I can see how gold buildings can help in a lot of situations. I still think I will hold off on them for now, since my income it pretty high for my level.
