How far without paying???

Has anyone gotten very far without paying in for gold bars?
I started this to kill time and now wanna see how far I can go without buying gold.
I am on level 30.

Most players can't get past level 5 without giving money for gold to Funzio.... amazing you got that far.... keep on going, who knows how far you will get.

currently i'm lvl 122. i only start to buy gold when i was in the 90s only to buy gold building.
didnt spend any gold on equipment.

im at 77 and not spent anything yet. i dont plan on spending anything on a free game. i will however buy $5 bucks worth gold to support funzio and buy a flag or something.

my stats currently are
fights won: 7173
fights lost: 607
robs won: 9627
robs lost: 103

i only just started checking profiles a few levels back, thats why i lost so many fights. if you spread your skill points out evenly, you'll do okay against the gold players.

Just hit 70 and still don't see the need to pay to get sum crazy weapon with 100 Atkins and def that only 1 mafia can use and it cost about the same in cash

Not true, 2 hoods level 17 and never spent gold. It is my anti gold experiment. And level 109 and only spent gold from level 70. Now I cannot sit there without at least one bar. 84 HRS TO UPGRADE OMFG, start watching the clock, days go by, when will it end. End now for 27 gold bars. Done I cannot take it any more. Next building 84HRS to build. OMFG.

I made it to level 90 something before I bought gold.

Spent $9.99 to acquire gold buildings as well as give something back to funzio for a well done form of entertainment.


Now I'm level 118 and just fought some one that after adding up only the gold items that were listed in the fight, totaled 32,205 Gold used. That's insane. That's at $99.99 for 1500 gold is equal to $2,146.78. Now that's alot and the best part was they only had 10,500 defense against my 15,000 attack.
