Because it's a game? Honestly, the only thing that surprises me is that they were dumb enough to disrupt the "fix" so early. I would have had a boss at 5% health and waiting and just finished it off as the event ends. I still would have had to split the prize with the other 5 or 10 teams that had the same idea (obviously), but I would have done it just for the lulz if nothing else. If I were a gold spending syndicate I would have pounded out TWO bosses last minute just to screw over the other 5 or 10 teams who thought they would be able to gain an advantage by just doing one.

They already told us the tiebreaker is supposed to be most bosses killed... It's how the leaderboard ranks us now. They just need to actually use it instead of trying to be nice to us by giving extra prizes.
