Stewart's performance is, as might be expected, the best thing about this film which although solid, perhaps never really takes flight.

I actually have a tab open to YouTube right now to watch this. I've had it open for a while but I haven't gotten around to watching it.

The Musketeers Of Pig Alley (dir: DW Griffith, 1912)

Reputedly the first "gangster movie" (though it's more a scuffle between two rival street gangs). I actually watched this twice - it's only 17 minutes long! The little details of what's going on are important to keep up with the storyline.

    Little Caesar (1931)

Now get this! The first of the three great gangster movies of the pre-code era, see (along with The Public Enemy and Scarface). If you don't believe it, better get your hat and start running, cos you're all through.

    Gamera (1965)

Forget the teenage mutants, this is real turtle power! The first in the Japanese monster franchise to rival Godzilla. The effects - and the monster - stand up surprisingly well. I watched the Japanese original from a Mill Creek Blu Ray set. Choose this, not the re-hashed version created by the first U.S. distributor.

    Remember the Titans 9/10

Set in the 1970s in USA. Black and white were still segregated, but a football(American football) club accepted both colours and the coach (Denzel Washington). But this caused a rift within the small town, but Denzel over comes the obstacles and the team wins the league, and acts more like a community.

    Hell Ride (Larry Bishop, 2008)

What to say; it's a biker flick! Plenty of bikes, women, revenge and betrayals. And it's got Dennis Hopper, Vinnie Jones and David Carradine.
