    John Wick 7/10

Very formulaic, Keanu can't act, but it is my kind of formula, so 7 it is.

Saw Ant Man over the weekend on free download. It was better than I though, so I will reluctantly give it a 7/10, mostlly because Evangaline Lilly is so friggin fine.

I imagine the brainstorming session for Civil War went something like this: "Hey you know what would be cool? If we had the Avengers fight each other!" "Yeah... how would we set that up?" "Does it really matter?"

Seriously... without going into details that would involve spoilers, there was absolutely no plot development to support any of that infighting. The whole movie was based on an unsupported premise. Beyond that, yeah... cool fight scenes, bro.

I was worried about that to some extent, and it is why I am less enthusiastic about this one than any of them. I understand the upcoming X-Men is even worse, just a contest to see how many super heroes you can fit onto one set.

I also think the last Avengers was a step down from the first one. The robot villain did nothing for me.

If you've ever read the comic books, you'd know that the movie version of ultron was about a 1000% improvement over the actual character. His comic book persona is the equivalent of a futurama killbot chanting "kill all humans."

Perhaps. I haven't read comic books in over 40 years.

Your loss. Go pick up the "infinity gauntlet" crossover series before the movie comes out.
