Nope, everything before 1990 gets discarded. I've watched pretty much all of the IMDB top 250, with a lot of movies I really didn't like that much.

    X-Men apocalypse: 7 (I am a big fan of x-men).
John Wick (again): 8. I really want a mustang.
Now you see me two: 5. The first was far better.
    Deadpool: 8. Nice, refreshing.
    Captain America, winter soldier: 6.
    Batman vs superman: 6.5.
    Independence day resurrection: 3.

When you review a movie you have to rate it based on year it was made, Genre and what else was being made in the time I think. To give top gun a 6/10 now would be like watching ice pirates 3D vs Avatar, but both were ahead of thier time granted avatar was tons more polished but look at the technology difference between 1982ish and now.

Top Gun is a classic in its era, is there one person who saw it then and hears Kenny Logins and Danger Zone that doesn't think of that movie and smile, that makes it a 8.5-9 min.

Like Footloose, the original, you hear footloose somewhere playing and you think of that movie, which was good in its time but would likely seem "cheesy" to someone younger.

    Just my thoughts on reviewing.
